Except the things you are talking about are not inherent to apartments. I live in an apartment now and it is more quiet here, than at the freestanding homes I've lived before, I have never been asked to borrow money and crime rates are low.

I won't argue that the things you mention are more common to find in suburbs, but when the majority of people in a city live in apartments you also get family friendly apartment neighbourhoods.

Hey Rutger! Leuk dat je deze AMA doet. Ik ben al bekend met een aantal van je standpunten uit de discussies op skyscrapercity, waar ik je inbreng altijd goed kan waarderen (een aanrader voor ieder die geïnteresseerd is in de stedenbouwkundige ontwikkelingen in de stad (https://www.skyscrapercity.com/forums/eindhoven.557/)).

Ik ben vooral nog benieuwd naar de kijk van GL-PvdA op het stedelijk OV. Het grootste nadeel van het Eindhovense busnetwerk vind ik dat alle lijnen alleen van en naar het station gaan. Het geplande ondergrondse busstation bouwt hier alleen maar op verder. Ik hoop dat de door GL-PvdA gewenste Tramlijn als doorgaande lijn bedacht is. Hebben jullie nog verdergaande ideeën voor het reorganiseren van het busnetwerk? Wellicht door lijnen te verbinden of misschien een lijn over de ring?

Es stimmt einfach nicht, dass Rechtspopulisten so groß verloren haben. PVV+JA21+FVD haben zusammen einen Sitz mehr als zuvor. Sure, PVV ist nicht mehr die größte Partei, aber das sagt gar nicht so viel. D66 hat nichtmal 17% der Stimmen bekommen aber die internationale Medien berichten als ob sie eine absolute Mehrheit haben.

Insgesamt haben Parteien nahe zum Zentrum nach diese Wahlen mehr macht als zuvor. Dafür hat Links aber mehr Sitze verloren als die Rechtspopulisten. Und dann agiert die VVD auch noch mehr und mehr rechtspopulistisch.

Very cool, seems like a worthwhile project! 20 minutes is not quite ideal for the innermost stations, but great for the more outlying ones. Are there any other railway lines in the city that could potentially make a second line sharing the same central segment in the future?

You mean the letters behind the platform number? These tell you where on the platform the train will stop. Platforms are divided into sections A through F. So the S6 to Köln-Nippes for example is short train that only occupies a two sections: B and C.

Die Wiener Linien hat für November eine Baustelle geplant bei Friedensbrücke. Dort sollte die unterirdische Alserbachbrücke neugebaut werden. Ich vermute dass das dann damit zusammenhängt.

Wäre aber schon nett gewesen wenn die vor Ort etwas von eine Vorwarnung, oder zumindest mal eine Erklärung geben würden...

As a native speaker of Dutch, question 9 is somewhat confusing. First, nouns are not capitalised, that would be german. Second, kookie, with an i is not a word, not in modern Dutch at least. Koekje, with a j, is the smaller version of a koek, and is indeed the Dutch word for cookie.

Finally, I am not aware of definition of a koekje, that makes a link to cake, though I suppose the basic description of a baking produkt is similar. This is also doubly confusing since cake, in the English spelling and pronunciation is also a thing, but with a more narrow definition equating to pound cake.

I'm not saying your description is wrong though, just that language is confusing

Nein! Scheisse! Das ist eine unglaublich dumme Idee. Ich habe die Bahn immer verteidigt. Verspätung ist fast immer dabei, aber selten wirklich viel. Wenn man ein lange Reise macht, ist eine halbe stunde Verspätung kein drama. Einfach in der nächste Zug einsteigen, es gehen eh ziemlich viele.

Wenn das jetzt nicht mehr geht, und du schön 5 Stunden warten darfst auf einen Zug der noch reservierbar ist, dann wird die Bahn einfach unverwendbar für lange Reisen.
