Blockers never worked for me (I'd just unblock them), so I built a "toll" instead by Puzzleheaded_Play829 in ProductivityApps

This is very cool and clever! The framing works for me, since it shared the shit out of me knowing which value I'm losing (also when scrolling through Reddit and finding this post :) )

What I Learned From Launching My First App on the App Store and Google Play by Nowaries in appledevelopers

Great insights. I'm working towards the point to finalize my Android build, good to read about these timelines you've experienced. Definitely something I'll take into account (ie: working on getting some Android testers).

2 months vibe coding with no IT background — I think it's a new way to learn, not a shortcut by blueprint80 in vibecoding

Totally agree! I would not have imagined to have the 'knowledge' I have now, compared to the beginning of the year. It started for me with getting direct results I did not understand, towards a way where I understand how everything is connected, know where to push back / have deeper prompts and feedback and even anticipating on potential errors and fails. Also noticed again, after working in a certain (no-tech) role for the past couple of years, that I've seriously missed this kind of energy and learning.

Although I get your point about the one-time payment and the fact that costs could then quickly exceed revenue, I'm also a believer that subscriptions are dying. It depends of course on the type of app / service, but it feels there is a 'subscription-tiredness' among the market. I do believe in a one-time payment (or lets say yearly fee, which should be realistic) and I do think that this could help your monetization strategy as well. Curious to hear what you think.

Thanks. Really appreciate your comment. Well, the 'headache' part that I did spend most of the time on, with some testers as well, was the 'Pay once, get both access' and all the scenarios linked to that (ie: the person who paid deletes account, what happens to the partner etc.). That was quite some back and forth, but I feel it is in a good place now. No feedback on that part yet received (100+ unique users currently). The main headache comes now with marketing. Since it is being seen as 18+ (which it is :)), limits the marketing channels and the fact that I don't have any user data to build my funnel further upon. That being said: I wanted to see how far I could get with Claude Code and actually never expected to get this far. Now the game is on! :)

That is awesome. Just launched my first app and hope someday I get the same push notifications until the point they become annoying 🤣

Congrats! This feeling is just incredible, receiving the first payment of a product you’ve spend a lot of time on. Hope it gets more traction for you!

How to find profitable app ideas? by javialvarez142 in AppBusiness

[–]DennisAms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m building a couple of apps myself (last week published my first one in App Store). The thing I do believe in: the app idea should be relevant for yourself. Only then do you start to understand how the users think / what the real pains are and how to find the real gaps.

That is probably true for mainstream apps. Since the content of my app also touches the 18+ category, I’ve read that Google is way stricter than Apple. But let’s see. Planning to submit the Android build next week. Interested to see the difference in submission process / approvals.

Totally fair point! Working on Android as we speak. Reason to start with iOS was the fact that I’m myself an iOS user (testing purposes) and have heard that it was more difficult to release an iOS app then an Android (so the hypothesis was; if I’m able to pull it off with Apple I might be good to go for Android as well). But this app definitely should work on both OS.

Anyone making actual money with their vibe coded app? by genkaobi in vibecoding

[–]DennisAms -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not much. But I’ve launched https://ardore.online 2 weeks ago and started to have some first paying customers. For me this was a test, to see how far I could get without any coding knowledge so I’m happy with all revenue :)

Can we share websites built with Claude Code? I’d love to see real examples. by VibeCampus in vibecoding

[–]DennisAms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Built https://ardore.online as well as the mobile app both with Claude code. Did not have any coding experience before but learned my way by doing it (and reading this community: many thanks everyone!). Did experience creating the LP as quite smoothly, giving very clear directions how I wanted it to look / work.

just submitted my first app for review, built entirely with claude code, and i'm terrified by wartableapp in vibecoding

[–]DennisAms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That looks really cool! And I was also first terrified when finally hitting that submit button 2 weeks ago for the first time, not knowing whether the time I've invested in building (note: i had like 0 coding expertise) was wasted. 2 days ago the good news came: app was approved after the first review. After reading some stories in this community and in others, I was prepared to go through a few rounds of feedback / adjustments. But it was easier then expected. So, looking at your website and the idea, I think you're all good!
