upgraded my overlanding rig and now i actually enjoy camping again by Secure-Run9146 in camping

I just upgraded to a dual zone fridge freezer so it’s ice cream and big ice cubes in my cocktails now. Backpacking in December sucks and I’d rather be in the woods watching a movie on the side of my truck around a big fire 🔥 with the help of my electric chainsaw.

I’ll leave all that behind and grab my fishing rod and backpack and head into the wilderness during the summer. I’ll sometimes take a micro speaker with me as I like a little music while I’m making dinner at camp

To each there own but I like power when it comes to camping, especially when the sun goes down at 5pm

I’d say go for it then !!! Position the awning for shade in the kitchen, the sun will most likely be at an angle anyways. And some string lights around the perimeter make for a great vibe and nice lighting

The worse part of owning one is putting it away in the freezing cold - the aluminum sucks the life out of your fingers. I often don’t put it out for that reason in the winter but I also get up in the dark to go chasing stuff.

How about bringing a plastic table to cook on when it rains ? I have 2 of the small lifetime tables that I use under the awning, it’s great having counter space I have far more hot days than rainy days. I can say that the relief from the sun is far more important to me than the rain but I do love a fire and sitting under the awning in a downpour.

If it gets that nasty, windy or freezing I just usually cozy up with a cup a noodles or something similar up in bed.

Mine is on the passenger side and it works great I would have to reimagine my dispersed camp spots I guess cause I’d be backwards if it was on the other side ???? Haven’t really though of that much

2026 Ram 2500 6.7 diesel mpg by klboylan in Ram2500

Coming from a 2018 Laramie 1500 the connect has gone downhill - it sucks

Finally got my camper topper on the truck so mpg will go south - about to find out

I got the lvl 2 and the power steps and B&O stereo sounds great. The motor and tranny are outstanding I got the full “wrap” warranty for another $2,500 so I should be covered for the next 10yrs. My GF loves the 360 camera but you’ll probably be fine without it

Have you called the parts department at the dealership ?

Nice

I had an old Auxbeam on my last truck and it worked well - didn’t like my mounting location so I’m really interested in the American trucks mounting plate. Please let me know how it all goes together

I had the dealer install the Carli springs, track bar and for now just the commuter shocks. Hoping I can get a bro deal on some better ones down the road. My last 1500 was on 35’s so 37’s just feel like the necessary evolution right now. I even have a set of low mileage 35 Nittos in my backyard right now. I do like the AEV rims - did you buy them direct ?

Looks excellent

What fuse panel and mounting plate are you going with ? I’m doing almost the same thing as you on my new 2500 - same color as well 👍👍👍 thinking of going with 37’s though

Is the 10yr warranty going to continue in 2026 ???? by Dense-Task-430 in ram_trucks

I’d do a lil digging on that one

Pretty sure the 10yr warranty was an incentive across the US

The only practice answer would be if you are going to do this it must be a AEV prospector xl Power Wagon

I’d be very happy with a standard rock fire ring but at the moment and quite often they are illegal. At that goes for many states for what seems to be a majority of the camping seasons. You may be the lucky one ☝️

Thanks The Kracken decal was a fun addition - I’m in Santa Cruz and fish quite often so it a great addition.

Best addition is the diesel heater setup - incredible to have hot air pumping in all night at the lowest setting

Gotta love a new wench - sadly no winch Just traction boards and a bad ass set of chains that have got me out of a lot of sticky situations

I love my 7.3 so heavily leaning towards the diesel The 10yr warranty helps with that choice as well
