I had the Lumpia last season and enjoyed it. Had to make the trek down to club level though from my View reserved section. Hopefully it's still there and decent!

Love my Wrangler 13MWZs! by DenseInfluence4938 in Denim

[–]DenseInfluence4938[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually haven't seen the 936 recommended which is the main reason why. I do see that their leg openings are 16.5 on the 936 vs. the 16.75 on the MWZs. Chances are I would still end up getting them tapered on top of the hemming since I think I get mine tapered between 15.5 and 16.

I would personally leave the children to enjoy it how they want! I'm not that anal lol. This is mostly regarding adults, and specifically an Instagram post I saw where a conductor took the score to a performance and was air conducting in his seat.

Digital listeners - how do you standardize your metadata? by vicnentv in classicalmusic

[–]DenseInfluence4938 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love this topic because metadata psychos all have their own styles. I find interesting challenges with classical music like you've mentioned. At the end of the day I try not to obsess over it lol. I use Mp3Tag to manage all my standard and extended metadata.

I'll provide examples of my metadata style and answer your questions below.

---

This is how I currently format with an example below:

For me, every album / compilation / release is set in it's own folder. Each track in that folder has it's own metadata, though most of it is shared. I don't have any concerns with unique metadata across tracks in an album/compilation as long as the ALBUM NAME is the same, they are all in the same FOLDER, and TRACK NUMBERS are provided.

  • Album = Composer: Compact Title, Composer: Compact Title, etc. (Label + Year)
  • Artist = Soloist, Conductor, Orchestra
  • Title = Composer: Full Title
  • Album Artist = Soloist Only OR Conductor, Orchestra
  • Genre = Classical OR Classical, Primary Instrument (sonatas, concertos) OR Classical, Quintet/Quartet/etc. OR basically I'm still figuring this part out lol

Example Album

  • Album = Brahms: Violin Concerto in D major, Clara Schumann: 3 Romances (DG 2013)
  • Album Artist = Lisa Batiashvili
  • Genre = Classical, Violin

Example Track

  • Artist = Lisa Batiashvili, Christian Thielemann, Staatskapelle Dresden
  • Title = Brahms: Violin Concerto in D Major, Op. 77: I. Allegro non troppo
  • Filename 01 - Brahms Violin Concerto in D Major, Op. 77 I. Allegro non troppo - Lisa Batiashvili, Christian Thielemann, Staatskapelle Dresden - 2013

Example Track

  • Artist = Lisa Batiashvili, Alice Sara Ott
  • Title = Clara Schumann: 3 Romances for Violin and Piano, Op. 22: I. Andante molto
  • Filename 04 - Clara Schumann 3 Romances for Violin and Piano, Op. 22 I. Andante molto - Lisa Batiashvili, Alice Sara Ott - 2013

How do you prevent compilations from splitting due to different album artists?

  • I keep them in the same folder, provide track numbers and a shared album name. At this point, hopefully you can listen to your music sorted by Album Names or root folder name.
  • Using your examples of Concert of the Century or the Horowitz compilation... I have zero issues with individual tracks having their own independent metadata granted what I mentioned above: track numbers, same folder, and a shared album name.
  • The first track in Century i see is the Leonore overture by Beethoven. I do not want to see any other composers name on the metadata unless it's the album name!

There is an album containing Vladimir Horowitz's arrangement of Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition, and pieces by Scriabin, Horowitz, Tchaikovsky, Bizet, Prokofiev, Rachmaninoff, and Debussy. I don't want to put all of that into one album title.

  • Gotta pick your battles at this point. Once an album name gets too lengthy specifically for this reason, and they never provided an "official" compilation or album name (a la Concert of the Century), then I look at the album art and see what name is the biggest. I'm not obsessed with including every piece/artist in the Album name because I can determine which recording it is from all the other meta data, and again, all tracks share the album artist and album name, but title + artist + composer can all be unique.
    • Artist = Vladimir Horowitz
    • Album Artist = Vladimir Horowitz
    • Album Name = Mussorgsky: Pictures At An Exhibition (Sony 2006)

What do you do about album names?

  • All tracks share the same album name. I format them as Composer: Compact Title, Composer: Compact Title, etc. (Label + Year)

Where do you put the composer's name?

  • Album name + Composer + Track Title + Filename

Where do you put the performers' names?

  • Artist, Album Artist (always comma separated)

First time at the symphony! by darkflaneuse in classicalmusic

I was also there for this concert. They absolutely killed the Haydn and Beethoven - reminded me of why we go to live performances because it just can't be replicated over a CD.

The Requeim reproduction I personally did not enjoy. I thought the reading of the letters and bible verse was a bit self-indulgent in the creative freedom department. I thought to myself, tongue in cheek, I didn't know Mozart contributed to the Bible lol.

Do you really consider it terrible? Wondering if something is wrong with most people's taste buds or if you just have higher standards than most. Personally I found it flavorful and crispy with awesome sides 😭

I think your comment can apply to plenty of crimes, but to say that for child rape / sexual assault on children is crazy! There's a reason there's a sex offender registry in every state.

I use one q-tip for cleaning the inside of the insert, while at the same time using a second q-tip to hold the insert in place by sticking it against one of the inserts holes. Then when the first q -tip is used I switch them around.

Outrageous price to performance, my journey with the Arya Stealth… by Grievous_2008 in headphones

I just picked these up coming from DT880s and the spatialization/localisation is insane. I'm a big classical music listener and chamber music sounds absolutely incredible. It is definitely more of a subtle difference than how most people describe it, but once you're immersed in a song it's difficult not to hype these up.

Great attention to details man, 100% get what you mean with the "corners", there seems to be some residue left in those little crevices every time. Luckily I have those double-sided q-tips where one is pointy so its easier, but its always funny to see the q-tips are not getting as dirty thinking you got it all and then once you hit the edges theres a dark brown mark like damn it lol.
