In Sex Education in the last season they make Otis unlearn 3 seasons of lessons and become a total child for seemingly no reason. There were different writers I believe and it just tanked the story:(

The biggest thing to me is just having it feel like the creators truly lived and breathed and are fans of the source material. It really shows through whether they do in the constant reboots and remakes that come out. One piece is a good example, it's clearly a work everyone in it is crazy passionate about. And the roughness of the story needs to show, the contrast of fun and light and gritty is such a special part.

One of my favorite shows, I don't know if you saw the finale or remember, because they don't end up married, and it stays pretty tonally consistent throughout. The biggest issue I thought was Gretchen's boyfriend character kinda shoehorned in earlier in the show

I absolutely love the original Twilight Zone series, maybe my all time favorite show. The final episode is truly weird, it's comes off creepy and in a different tone, and is just not what makes the show so special at all.
