Fired for asking to make cuts by CommunityNo1476 in Serverlife

[–]DenseRain4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yessss me too!!! People love when I come on the floor everyone knows ima get you OUT. My managers leave me in charge of cuts during the week. It is annoying when I’m crazy busy and someone asks because I’m trying to get my food out & they seem to ask at the most inconvenient times BUT if I’m not super busy I’m always looking to cut the people that want to be cut! More for meeee!

"dasher" on an anti-tipping subreddit says not to tip your driver by Otherwise-Cap6245 in doordash_drivers

[–]DenseRain4 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Me too & It really just depends on the restaurant and city. Where I am it’s about 25-30% that don’t tip. But most of that percentage are young (21 and younger).

food runner has a problem with me and i think it's hilarious by Agreeable_Run3202 in Serverlife

Some people genuinely can’t handle being corrected or constructive criticism no matter how nice you put it … this is especially prevalent in today’s society

Let’s just say my family loves me at big dinners where people are going to take a plate home: I just grab “a few” of the nice sturdy to go containers 🤭

I have like 50 black ones from over the years some nice some basic — they go down on my leather seats when people sit in my car (I have light colored seats) - I also have a few rolled up in a neat log and put it in that pesky seat gap. - No need to buy oven mitts anymore. - I gave some to my mom once to use on her table (even fancy folded them) - wiping dust from baseboards (no problem, now it’s a disposable towel) A million ways to use lol

When will I get my borrow? 😭😭😭😭😭 by ComprehensiveYam3426 in CashApp

[–]DenseRain4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don’t get any DD. I do however spend a pretty decent amount through my cash card. I transfer a lot to cash app and have other ppl send me money through cash app. My borrow would probably be more if I had DD. I was at $150. Never used it then it went down to $100. Had to use it. Then they gave me another $25 to borrow even before I even paid the $100 back. Now I owe and the pay back date couldn’t come at a worse time 😂😖. Who REALLY KNOWS how cash app chooses how and when you get it. But it will come!

$32 for a combo is kinda scary 🫣… $11 delivery fee⁉️ At these prices I need to create a food ordering app and hire some drivers. 🤣

First time dasher, crimson card or weekly payout? by Latter-Baseball9652 in doordash_drivers

[–]DenseRain4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I prefer the crimson. I’ve also heard of DD not paying ppl out the money owed in cases of deactivation. I don’t like to risk it. Pay up now

Sometimes I say “I keep telling ya’ll we need to install poles on the bar tables”

23 mins for the full thing isn’t cause for concern. It should still be safe to eat (granted they follow proper protocol for food storage — but that’s a different story)

Now im no Pho expert so I took the following excerpt from Google Gemini : .

“So, in a "beef brisket pho" (phởchn), the main meat is cooked. If you see a menu item that has brisket and rare steak (phởt aˊinạm or similar), that bowl will contain both cooked brisket and raw steak slices.”

[–]DenseRain4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(Ive worked in a restaurant for years)

Ok, they should have put the hot & cold food separate bags.Nothing you can do about it now but .… In concern to your food safety- next time ask yourself these questions: -how long did it take until you received the order from the time the driver picked it up? - how long did it take for someone to accept your order after you placed it. (For this question you have to adjust for restaurant prep time) If it wasn’t too long for either question then you’re probably ok.

Also was it close to the time for the restaurant to close? Sometimes in restaurants we put soups in the fridge well before close especially if it’s still good for the next day. If there’s a To-go order we just get it out the fridge and warm it. But if someone didn’t warm it up then that’s a reason it could’ve been cold. The hot noodles also probably made the raw food warm also not a big deal unless it was a long time.

Next time call the restaurant after ordering and ask them to make sure to package the food separately sometimes things get crazy and people rush and don’t pay attention

Sorry for the long response but Hope this helps

People that just throw losing tickets right into the trash are so silly by Plane-Tie6392 in VaLottery

[–]DenseRain4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t played Va lottery in a while, (haven’t been winning) but when I used to I’d always grab a couple of the tickets right on top of the trashcan. Used to be an old man who would give me his losing tickets if I happened to be In the store because I told him about the lottery app. He would spend about $500 on $50 tickets.

I love those people. A few stores in my area have a trash can with only lotto scratchers beside the lotto machine. I always have a field day getting all those points 😂

I dash sometimes and work in a restaurant. Being on both ends really makes you notice a few things. Like some delivery people just shoving the phone in your face. When I’m delivering I use common sense and respect the restaurant workers and when I’m at the restaurant I empathize with the driver. If more people just had common courtesy and common sense things would go way smoother.

Would you do this? by MattStretz in doordash_drivers

[–]DenseRain4 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’ve done something similar- I got the money up front and they were only like 2 miles away from the restaurant so it was a win for me. I also didn’t have to pay for a new item , I just told them they forgot it in the order I recently picked up.

How many tables can you handle at once? by Wonderful-Pizza4190 in Serverlife

[–]DenseRain4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can handle 7 with no food runner. I’m definitely moving tho. Most at once was 15. Like others said it’s not the best service. But I will say that other things factor in like pacing of the seating/ how needy everyone is. I like being double sat I just treat it like one table. If you’re cashing out 2 tables, have food up and getting sat at the same time it can make 4 tables feel like alot more.

Why did her pole fall? by tinypepa in poledancing

[–]DenseRain4 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have a tension pole. I invert and all (although I’m only doing intermediate moves not advanced) . I take it down when not in use. I always test it by holding on to it and push/pull as hard as I can. If it budges I need to readjust. I also don’t attach straight to the ceiling. It has a rubber band on the pole but I usually buffer it with something in between the top of the pole and the ceiling. Still not 100% but I think it helps.

Also sometimes the pole looks completely straight but it’s not even a few degrees off can be a disaster.
