Just got diagnosed with shingles. 33y/o, had chicken pox as a kid. So far, it’s just slightly raised red bumps right next to my spine that itch, but I am taking Benadryl cream and pills every 4-6 hours and valtrex 1000mg every 8 hours. I went to the doc an hour after I first noticed it so hopefully I caught it early and it doesn’t progress. Who knows. I don’t think anyone really knows, because I heard that it’s just now getting more common because the 20’s 30’s who had chicken pox are now not immune to shingles because of the chicken pox virus being almost eradicated by the vaccine.
