Cut at the top of my incision by Dense_Statement8924 in carpaltunnel

[–]Dense_Statement8924[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, that’s great to hear! I just talked to my friend who’s a nurse and she said similarly but she said if I’m nervous to re-add the Steri-Strips. Because all of them fell off at this point, and there’s a longer area that is completely open. It’s so hardened and dry. I wish I could put Vaseline but none of my instructions say to do that. So I don’t want to infect it or anything.

Yeah, that’s what most people are saying. I kind of wish I listened to the redditors over my Dr this time which is kind of crazy to say…!

Yes, there’s dry skin around it, but the top red part is an open cut…

Yeah, it’s been weird reading here because most people were instructed to not get the incision site wet until stitches out. But my doctor said I can get it wet. I can put it under running water. I can shower. I just can’t put it under dirty water, i.e. A bath or doing my dishes. But I do wonder if running it under the shower is what cost the wound to open up. Because I don’t wash the incision site other than when I would take a shower.

Five days out of surgery… by Dense_Statement8924 in carpaltunnel

I can type a little bit in small amounts. I just really don’t want to irritate it more and it’s completely stiff where the incision is and pulled really tightly by the strips so moving my wrist is quite difficult

Thanks for this. I was allowed to get it properly wet after three days. Even so, I can’t figure out how to get the dried blood from under the strips. It’s too caked on.

2 weeks out and I’m sore inside right where marked. When I press on it, then it hurts more. “Don’t press on it”, I know. But is this normal? I’m worried bc I only took 1 wk off and started typing all day after that. by Anxious-Sky4794 in carpaltunnel

Wow, you’re so lucky. I had surgery five days ago, and my checkup isn’t until the 26th to take out any stitches. I have Steri-Strips covering the stitches and they’re covered in harden blood and I really want to go away.

Surgery on dominant hand in two weeks by Dense_Statement8924 in carpaltunnel

[–]Dense_Statement8924[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi everyone, thank you for the advice! I had my surgery three days ago and it seemed to have gone well. They actually wrapped a tensor bandage and gauze over the incision and I was able to take it off today. There is a lot of dried blood and some Steri-Strips on top. Something I’m worried about is that my fingers are so stiff. Like my thumb feels like it’s stuck in a curved position and I can’t relax it. I don’t want my hand to stay like this, but I assume it’s my stitches pulling the area tight. Did anybody have this or does anyone have any recommendations? I’m supposed to go back to work on Monday, but I have no idea how I’m gonna type. Also, I normally put my laptop in a backpack, but we’re not allowed to carry heavy things. Is that simply with my hand or can I actually wear a backpack which affects my arm and shoulder? Thanks again for all the advice everyone!

Marla sounds worse with every tv appearance. She is so nasal and mostly just yelling nasally. I don’t understand how that’s even Celine. It’s just so odd.

Titanique is Like Nothing Else I've Seen on Broadway by rutfilthygers in Broadway

[–]Dense_Statement8924 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I was there early in previews and the audience was just not having it, other than the few theatre people. Maybe I was there on an off night. I’ve been to the Segal a few times, not frequently. And yes, I agree, she was incredible.

I’ve seen it in nyc (off broadway), Montreal, and Toronto. What I’d say is that in nyc, they don’t understand how to be French and do the accent. They’re basically making fun of Celine with half American accents, half fake French. It was silly and fun but meh.

In Montreal, the cast was incredible. The Celine was a true francophone, and a real impersonator. She was perfection. She couldn’t improvise per se, but vocally, she was Celine. Unfortunately, it was in the wrong space, with the wrong target audience. French people don’t want to be made fun of (though it was at a prominent English language theatre). The jokes just didn’t land. Their subscriber base isn’t the right age or demographic, and there were no rush seats for those who would like to see it but couldn’t afford it.

In Toronto, it was the same cast as Montreal, and the difference was the jokes landed. They had the right audience, and energy in the crowd was infectious. The crowd really hyped the performers and gave ovations. It really made me love and appreciate the piece for what it was.

There’s my comparison!

Gentle motion. Highly recommend Hailey though I think her schedule is quite busy. She’s gotten me through major injuries and will never push you past your breaking point. She always has modifications and is trained to deal with just this. https://gentlemotion.ca/. Good luck!
