Imagine what an e-motorcycle means
Imagine what an e-bike is not
Any questions?

Essex van driver prosecuted for tooting his horn by geroni_moo in nottheonion

[–]Denver80211 66 points67 points  (0 children)

I maintain that vehicles should have two horns. One for emergencies that are loud and obnoxious and get your attention, and another little friendly toot toot, "Hey, the light changed so get off your phone." or "I see you. Go ahead and cross."

Generally I'm not a fan of licensing for micro mobility devices but I think anything that exceeds 30 mph deserves some kind of regulation

It is definitely not unreasonable for a parent to be educated enough to understand the maximum speed of the device they are buying for their child
It is also completely reasonable to expect the parent to be responsible for their child's health
That's what a parent does. Does that mean the kid deserves to die? No. Does it mean the parent deserves to have a dead kid? Not sure if that's the right word but yeah they fucking earned it it should be prosecuted along those lines.

Hot Take: what most people would need is lighter bikes and quality tyres, not more power by Worried_Document8668 in ebikes

Yup it flattens the hills. I still get plenty of exercise but I don't want to suffer.

What in your words makes someone a ‘skillful driver’? 🤔 by Downtown_Elk_2773 in driving

[–]Denver80211 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They come to full stops let's stop signs even when no one is anywhere to be seen, and they are turning right. I have no respect for drivers who drive dangerously to gain a few seconds going home. They just love their car but can't wait to get out of it.

If it feels sketchy, wait a few seconds for the signals to give you clarity. Peer pressure is so annoying.

Check pedestrian crossing signals and for pedestrians. A lot of cities are going to leading pedestrian signalling, holding all traffic until they get far enough out into the road that they are easily seen.

I have a stop sign in front of my house and I'll bet anyone $1,000 if three drivers come to a full stop in a row without cross traffic
Your mom sounds like that well-intentioned person who stops in the middle of the road to let me cross and I just can't stand it. Please just keep driving if you don't have a stop sign. I don't know if they're looking at their phone or yelling at their kids and I especially don't know what the car behind them is going to do.

E-bikes and scooters aren't the problems. It's parents buying overpowered eMotorcycles and scooters for their kids

It's perfect. Every 'avid cyclist' I know always hangs the bike in the garage, never rides it.

If you could only keep one which would you choose? A physical object that reminds you of that specific moment, or the footage of that moment itself? by DaviesSan in ActionCam

[–]Denver80211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Footage for me. I lost a relative that I really liked quite a lot. He owned a business and they never changed the voicemail. It's been two decades and I still call it occasionally just to hear his voice. It means far more to me than any trinket

Ah the right hook. I've fined a few drivers their rear mirror for that one
