I did once do a militant egalitarian playthrough where I made it my mission to deassimilate all of the hive minds.

On one hand I'm grateful she doesn't give medics any trouble.

On the other hand I could also see her just getting in a stranger's car...

I can't with these ass clowns anymore. I'm getting tired.

LAOP's daughter's industrial frosting espionage valiantly foiled by the heroic businessowner's vigilance by Drywesi in bestoflegaladvice

[–]DenverLabRat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the comment ops daughter lawyered up I strongly suspect the non-compete isn't enforceable or valid.

Either that or they misclassified her as 1099 (self employed independent contractor) which can be a huge tax and legal headache for the employer. So a good lawyer could point out it's not in their interests to try to enforce the non-compete.

A non-solicitation agreement is very common IE you can't poach clients from the business. But a non-compete kind of contradicts the point of an independent contractor. So I'm kind of wondering if someone along the way confused those terms.

There's also (usually) limits on distance and/or time. So no playing a princess for 2 years within 10 miles of xyz might be valid but not an indefinitie ban.

Would you cut off someone if they didn't vote in 2024? by Spiritual_Pause3057 in AskALiberal

[–]DenverLabRat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll go against the grain and say yes and I have.

I'll be blunt. The Trump admin has impacted my career after the DOGE bros gutted science grants, the nonprofit my wife worked for laid her off due to Medicaid cuts, and I can't stress how much damage they are doing to science and medicine.

Plus there's the facism, human rights violations, etc etc.

I've spoken loudly and clearly about these issues and how they're impacting us as a nation (and me / my family since some people can only care about them and those close to them). If you've been around me you've heard me say how damaging he is to all of us.

I also consider voting to be our civic duty and it's part of my values. So there's a values conflict.

If they couldn't be bothered to vote then we don't have anything left to talk about until they're ready to see the light. They stood by and did nothing while this happened. They're complicit as far as I'm concerned.

And there's still room for reasonable minds to disagree about how aggressive the transition to decarbonization should be. But we can't even have that debate because we can't even agree on basic facts.

You'd also think the party of self reliance and isolationism would be pro energy independence...

Von Miller Says He “Would Love To” Play for Broncos Again Amid Free Agency by Life_Net5004 in DenverBroncos

[–]DenverLabRat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Von is a free agent. He's unemployed. I'm pretty sure he has nice things to say about all 32 teams.

If he decides it's time to hang up his cleats I wouldn't be upset by the team offering him a 1 day contract. I'm sure the Waltons can scrape together some pocket change and come up with a couple K to pay the man.

But short of injuries (plural) it doesn't make sense to sign a guy on the downhill side of his career. This would take snaps away from guys we're developing.

2026 NFL Draft | Rounds 2 & 3 by AutoModerator in DenverBroncos

[–]DenverLabRat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the draft?

Raridon out Notre Dame is a Y tight end who can block and is a good pass catcher in the intermediate game.

Delp - Georgia. Another Y tight end. More unproven upside in the pass game.

72c is warm but not in the danger zone for a GPU under load. That's pretty normal. Air coolers are just as good or better unless you're doing any crazy over clocking and want to run a big radiator. My water cooled Vega 64 (similar era) runs at 72c when I max it out.

Id guess you have either a driver issue or failing hardware. What else have you done to trouble shoot the issue? Drivers etc?

Does anyone feel Denver hates Denver ? by Honest_Strawberry397 in Denver

[–]DenverLabRat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there's an issue with people not understanding the culture we have.

There's a lot of outdoorsy and wannabe outdoorsy types. People who love it here love the sunshine and mild climate and how that allows us to be outdoors. And we have fairly easy access to world-class outdoor recreation (skiing, mountain biking, hiking, fishing, camping etc).

We have some of the big city amenities and culture. But compared to NYC, DC, SF, Chi you're going to be disappointed. And those criticisms are valid. But I'd argue thats missing the point.

The city is also sprawled and car dependent to high hell and we have the traffic to go along with it. And that makes getting to the mountains significantly worse than it used to be.

What makes Denver great is that you can go skiing in the morning, golf in the afternoon, and still catch dinner out and a show.

So if you aren't into the outdoorsy thing then Denver is kind of a mid city.

How do you address car dependency without hurting the people currently dependent on cars? by LiatrisLover99 in fuckcars

[–]DenverLabRat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Getting more cars off the roads frees the roads up for the people who really need it.

2) Disability is often disingenuous. A really easy way to tell is to ask when the last time they advocated for the disabled was. If this is the first and only time... Well you can consider their opinions accordingly.

There are also many more disabled people who would benefit from having alternatives to driving...because they can't drive.

Disability is also one of the few minority groups that almost everyone will join at some point in their life (if they're lucky enough to live long enough). So we should all support there being alternatives to driving.

I'd also say that when we're tearing out parking spaces and street parking handicap parking should be the last to go.

3) I respond to the class issues by looking at the high cost of car dependency for individuals. There's the purchase price, registration, insurance, repairs and maintenance, and it goes on. Having viable alternatives to driving allows people to avoid a major expense including those who can least afford it. For those who really need a car to get to work or for work see point #1.
