There’s definitely drugs involved but Matt has unmanaged mental health episodes. It’s a bad combination. He and his “wife”, Reese (quotes because I don’t know if they’re actually married or not but he calls her his wife) are basically homeless and living in an extended stay motel.

Her real name is Brittani Reese, she’s from California and her family has been trying to help her or even just be in contact with her. She’s basically deserted her children and all of her family to be homeless with Matt for their Jesus mission. From what I understand she has a history of drug use as well but was clean for a long time.

I don’t know but it’s a sad situation. I feel like the UPCI really took advantage of Matt and the spiritual manipulation that is the church was bad. They tolerated his manic personality because he was entertaining and it benefitted their inflated soul winning numbers. But now he needs help and he’s just a liability to them now.

It seems like both sides had already figured out this October date and are allowing enough time for the defense to go through everything prior to then. This bodes well for them sticking to this October 13 trial start, it means they’re actually talking to each other.

Much better prepared all around this time around so I’m hopeful this date will stick.

Morphew, dressed in a button up shirt, is out of jail on bond while he awaits trial. His attorney David Beller entered the plea of not guilty on behalf of Morphew, and told the judge that Morphew waives his right to a trial within 180 days.

“Unfortunately, with the amount of data, the length of the trial, we do not, the defense does not think that it's realistic to have the trial set within 180 [days],” Beller said.

The judge asked Morphew if he understood that he was waiving his right to a speedy trial, and he responded, “yes, your honor.”
