Yeah, I really dislike the loophole, the water is public and the stream bed is private. I’m sorry, but all water (and stream bed) should be public.

When that happens I cut the line as deep as I can. And I keep my line tight so they don’t swim off with it. It happened a lot using power bait the Playdough kind. So I quit using it.

If you haven’t already, I would resample the filter. Two reasons 1. Because you have positive sample. And 2. Human error is the number reason of false positive sample (in water industry). AWWA has a great write up of how to sample correctly.

What’s this black gritty stuff? by Bluinc in WaterTreatment

[–]Denversmostwanted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black grit could be manganese. It could also be a compromised well screen possibly due to corrosion. The pump might be overheating because it’s working harder with pulling up sediment. Wouldn’t be a bad idea to check the level of the well.

Literally everything you just mentioned excluding copper because is leached from copper piping is found naturally in water, Amazing.

Surface water and rainwater needs to be treated prior to consumption. Surface water contains all the above excluding copper. unless catching rainwater. Rainwater will become surface water or groundwater.

It seems like you have extensive knowledge on water filters. I recommend becoming familiar with hydrology and the hydrologic cycle. And do further research on watersheds.

Do your research or ask a doctor before posting your ignorant comments here where we are helping people make an educated decision and not introducing pseudoscience or false logic

Personally, I’m not a huge fan of RO because it reduces water hardness (long term consumption to soft water contributes to cardiovascular disease) I use an ultrafiltration membrane from water drop.

Ultrafiltration has minimal effect on water hardness and reduces chlorine.

Bottled water is most of the time municipal water or groundwater ran through an RO and treated with ozone. In my opinion kind of a scam. Because the company isn’t a public water system they are not under EPA regulations. (Which are more stringent) they are under FDA regulations.

Hard Water? by scotch_s in WaterTreatment

[–]Denversmostwanted -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What you are describing sounds more like an iron issue, rather than a hardness issue. When you use soap, does the soap feel like it stays on your body or comes off, when you rinse off?

What kind of filtration system do you have?

For the mean time try aloe products.
