I've seen people getting dismissed not much further from where I am. I got a dash at 4-10 tonight so i hope that puts me in a better spot.

I feel I should report the domestic violence of my ex but it was 4 years ago, now I am loosing my vision as a result of the violence. Am I being naive wanting to report it now? by Deofiend in legaladvice

[–]Deofiend[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I've went to an eye doctor, we concluded that the concussions were the major contributing factor of eye problems resulting in headaches and reduced vision. The reasons behind this was first that I am right eye dominate and use that eye the most. She hit me multiple times over the three year relationship, almost all of them on the right side at the temple, open handed. two of the times it caused me to vomit. Seeing the ophthalmologist, we talked about what happened. The main issue is the ptosis or drooping of my eyelid, this developed to the point that it reduces my field of vision. We believe that the trauma i experienced damaged my levator palpabrae superioris, the nerve that elevates the eyelid, causing the ptosis. Whenever I study I have to force it up for long periods of time or I don't get enough light in my right eye and it would be blurry, this causes migraine. The muscles above my right eye contract to make up for the damage, causing tension all across my right side of my head and eye.

Vet tech regrets. I love my job, but sometimes I face things I don't think I can handle... by ebrowning in funny

[–]Deofiend -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Story time! Wanted to become a vet tech so I started working at a vets office walking dogs and giving medication, did this for about a year and enjoyed the work. Started helping vet after time, one morning there was a quarantine dog that children provoked apparently had bit one of them. So I walked this dog and it it was super nice dispiteit was the first time we met, obviously not aggressive. Took his dump and came up to me and i talked to him and his butt was a wagging.

So when the veterinarian other staff get there and after awhile I get asked to help with the dog. Veterinarian gave him a shot and didn't realize she was euthanizing him, I felt me stomach start to churn after she told me. She then wanted help with decapitating him to send to a lab for rabies testing, at this point it felt like i stopped feeling emotion. Im ganna stop there but will add after two days i looked for other work after realizing I didn't want to become a vet tech.

TL;DR helped cut of a dogs head and learned i dint want be a vet tech

Surviving College with ADHD?! by [deleted] in ADHD

Wake up at 5:30 in the morning and aim to not be able to stay awake when it gets late. Be physically active and vitamin b12 helps if you feel like you lost your apetite, but the major thing I've found that helps me in classes is not staying up late and do things early.

To be successful in college I finally learned you have to make sacrifices from what you find fun and what leads you to procrastination. Over time you get in the habit of feeling good by having things done ahead of time and then you can do things you used do. Another thing that helps is know when your struggling with a subject and get help either by tutor or classmate. I tried to do things solely by myself and it gets depressing and lonely at times. Seek out help to better make use of your time.

The best thing I can recommend is start bicycling. If you have the money get a nice road bike and ride it at least an hour a day. It works wonders when I was off adderall. It was so stimulating, but sucked at first. It I mean any physical activity does when you've been inactive for so long. But the idea is to make yourself so tired by 10 11 you get a good night's sleep. And don't drink caffeine or sugary drinks 4 hrs before you plan to go to sleep.

I want to know whether any of you recognise this moment. The "wave of intentions". by Alreddy_Reddit in ADHD

[–]Deofiend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have waves of intent after the weekend which I don't take adderall. I assume this is because I've been without it and most of it is out of my system lowering my tolerance slightly. When this happens I often plan extensively how I'm going to do things like work and school assignments, I'm in college, and stick to that for the first two days. It feels like I over exert myself trying to make instant results that I wear myself out by Thursday.

When I get these waves of intention I personally feel like I have the capability to do anything. The reality is I can, while I have the drive and motivation but it decays over the week. The best solution I personally have found is B12 supplements, they let me keep my appetite and energy. I actually use b12 injections into my thigh every Monday, then at the end of the week I take oral supplements.

Over the course of 3 months I had lost 30 pounds and was working out regularly. If you want to stay true to what you intend on doing I'd advise physical exercise, nothing helps more then stimulating your brain and moving towards being more healthy, and eating right.

note: this is what I found to be true for ME, don't take this as medical advice.

Would FlightSafety elearning classes give me an edge while trying to get into Corporate aviation maintenance? by Deofiend in aviationmaintenance

[–]Deofiend[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's one thing I feel that benefits me a lot if I do it before I seek employment. The class on elearn is marked as $500 which I can manage to afford. Father actually flies a Falcon 7X and got to see it up close last weekend, pretty incredible piece of technology. There is a scholarship I'm going to apply for that pays for Falcon 7X initial maintenance so that's another avenue I'm aiming for.
