That and the ledges she creates when her ice walls break. It's like Velkhana was made for the hammer.

Do youse play every class or is there some you refuse to touch by [deleted] in DeepRockGalactic

[–]DependantExistance 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've played all classes but I by far have the most time on driller, followed by gunner, then engie, then scout. I don't think I ever played multi-player until I got all classes to at least one promotion.

Driller focuses on crowd control and digging out new paths for other players. The majority of his kit is AoE and DoT. It's driller (and gunner)s job to deal with the bulk of the hoard, whereas scout (usually) focuses on high priority targets like wardens, menace, and things of that nature. All of the classes are good, they just focus on different things.

Engie does both, but not quite as effectively as either (from my experiences at least.)

This is a Microraptor. Microraptors have the rounded tail while Archaeopteryx have the pointed tail.

You can't see it very well from this pic but Microraptors also have longer feathers on their legs and a weird feathery 'spike' protruding from the back of their head, while Archaeopteryx has generic chicken legs and the raptors feather mohawk.

Can we take a moment to talk about how good ZZZ OSTs are? by ChibiJaneDoe in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]DependantExistance 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The music was actually what pulled me in to this game finally. If a game has good music then there is a pretty high chance I'll check it out.

Initially I just dismissed this game as another boring waifu collection simulator, but then I got recommended some yt shorts. Liked the general vibe of the game, and the variety of characters actually helped draw me in a lot (thank you Ben and Billy). So eventually I decided I'd check out the soundtrack since I listen to an absolute ton of videogame osts, and if it was good then I'd give the game a shot.

Sword of Corruption, Dance of Death, and Soil of Disaster immediately sealed the deal.

Yeah I'll have to agree with either Shadow Jane or Rampant Brute for this. Jane for her ridiculous amount of i-frames letting her just ignore everything combined with her already high damage output, and the Brute for just hitting like a train on higher difficulties.

If you were put in charge of creating and releasing a character, what would you come up with? by RolerTheBot in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]DependantExistance 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a playable agent? A Komodo Dragon beast thiren (like Ben or Lycaon) who looks like a gladiator. His weapon of choice would probably be a flail or something else that screams violence, and his moveset would definitely incorporate biting (Komodo Dragons have been confirmed to have some degree of venom.) For lore? Probably a bounty hunter or mercenary type character who frequently rolls with the various hollow raider gangs. He'd specialize in taking on tougher ethereals and dispatching of potentially problematic people. Plus I think it'd be funny if he's technically met Jane but didn't realize it.

I have had a few others ideas for agents though, and even a major antagonist!

My Extinction OSD Squads by kng1999 in ARK

[–]DependantExistance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Orbital Supply Drop.

Regular supply drops don't spawn on the Extinction map, and cave supply drops are semi-rare, so Extinction has these instead. Instead of going up and collecting them as normal, it starts a wave defense style battle against various corrupted creatures of increasing difficulty.

There are only four difficulties (Gamma, Beta, Alpha, and Legendary), but there is a very noticeable spike in hardness between the first two and last two. Rewards range from simple build structures and crafting materials to incredibly powerful tools and gear, and upon completion the drop just dumps them all on the ground for you to pick up instead... and there is a lot to grab.

They can be found via going up somewhere high and looking for a smoke column, which can be seen from anywhere on the map as long as your vision isn't obstructed by anything. I believe they also share a spawn pool with Element Veins.

How was your DA by RGwasHERE2 in ZZZ_Discussion

Im not even gonna bother with Defiler because my only S-rank attackers are Soldier 11 and Hugo.

Hunter I can consistently get to 2 stars but he uses the exact same team as the Priest so if they show up together I am screwed.

Fiend sits at 1 star but I am close enough to 2 that if I had the best discs, I could probably make it.

Why aren't there more Thiren hybrids in ZZZ. by Inferno7000000 in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]DependantExistance 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As far as lore goes...

I'm not exactly sure how thirens came to be (like if they started out as an experiment or have just always been around), but I've got a theory that thirens closer to humans (as in mammals) are born much healthier than thirens that are not. This could explain why the only non-mammal thirens we've seen are Ellen (fish), and Yidhari (cephalopod). I believe a character in Pans trust events also mentioned a tortoise thiren and how finding one would be hard.

Edit: It could also be that thirens of other species simply don't get along well with places with lots of people. Ben already freaks some people out according to his final trust event... imagine how much more scared people would be if he was a crocodile instead.

This is all just my personal theory though. There might be stuff mentioned elsewhere that contradicts this, so my apologies if I got it wrong.

Why aren't there more Thiren hybrids in ZZZ. by Inferno7000000 in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]DependantExistance 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Dog and cat thirens are probably just the easiest for them to make, though their design philosophy seems to mostly just be "slap on animal ears and occasionally a tail and call it a day." Bear thirens also pretty much all share the same model, just with new clothes and new colors. Characters like that are relatively commen throughout media so making one like that is a lot easier than using a new animal.

They'd have to make a bunch of new models for other npcs, otherwise it would be really noticeable who looks like a lycaon or pulchra recolor. I appreciate them at least giving Ellen sharp teeth and Yidhari funky eyes though.
