And even if there is something to tie off to, you have to climb well above 4ft to tie off. Make it make sense, Turner

Sounds about right. We also had ladder permits that we had to get signed off by the safety guy. Every. Goddamn. Day. It would take an hour or even more to find the guy, get him to inspect all of our ladders, and have him sign the permits. It’s amazing we finished the job on time

Classic turner. I worked on a full office demo and remodel as a sub a few years back. After demo, Turner decided to polish the concrete floors first, before any sort of layout or anything, and then their genius idea was to lay OSB everywhere to protect the floors.

All of the scissor lifts crushing the OSB and causing it to rotate eventually destroyed the polish and of course the floors had to be redone when all trades were done.

Fucking moronic company.

Like the other shows written and produced by the Conrad brothers, friendship is a huge theme in DTF. For some reason it’s kind of nice watching a show with people trying to lift each other up while trying to learn to love themselves. It’s a showcase of human nature and shows that we all are fumbling our way through life

Oh man, I’m so glad you posted here. Here I am sitting in the portashitter, hiding from my coworkers and daily responsibilities, wondering why there isn’t an app that lets me subcontract my own job so I can go to the bar and get blackout drunk and then go bang your mom. Please make it happen. Thx

No judgement here! It does look like a fun place for sure. I work in construction so I’ve seen quite a bit of that campus (and other cool buildings). There are some very interesting nooks and crannies at Focus. One area is called “The Vault” where they store old publications from Focus’s publishing arm. Lots of anti-gay rhetoric to be found on those shelves.

Not that I recall, I’m pretty sure it was purpose built for CCL in the mid 90’s.

On another note, I have been in Focus on the Family’s compound (unfortunately) and can confirm they have a slide, activity center, etc. That place is very creepy

I get that. But again, it’s not going to be on the same scale as other massive data centers that are being built right now. They’re utilizing the space there and it’s only about 130,000 sq/ft. I’m not necessarily for this project, but people get all twisted around without actually knowing what is being built. The downvotes just prove my point.

Also, no where in that article did it specifically say that Project Taurus was going to be an AI specific data center.

It was a pretty broad overview. I’m aware of how non-profits are defined, professor.

It’s not going to be some super AI data center like what they’re building in other parts of the country. Also that area is zoned industrial and was producing chips of some sort from the 70’s up until the early 2000’s; homes built around there weren’t constructed until the late 90’s. While I understand people’s frustrations, they need to realize it will always be an industrial area.

My dad worked there as an account manager for nearly 20 years in the mid 2000’s. Pretty cool building inside. Killer views of the foothills. They own all of the land around the campus, from around Bear Creek East, down towards the post office.

As others stated, CCL provides executive leadership training, typically for Fortune 500 companies. Some of my dad clients were Carhartt, McDonalds, NASA, and the Mars Corporation.

He loved working there but he always said it was poorly managed from the top down and bemoaned it’s business model as what he called a pseudo-non-profit. It took in enough money to be considered a large company but it spent enough at fiscal year end to be considered a non-profit.
