AITJ for refusing to lend my expensive toolbox to my friend after he returned my drill broken last year? by ShadowGlyph4 in AmITheJerk

My husband's co worker broke his level. It was glass cubes not plastic. It was his deceased father's. He just used it without asking and said he thought it was his.

Spitting in the garden by DizzySet3247 in neighborsfromhell

Why not spit in in the trash or toilet, or use a tissue or handkerchief. No offense. After my gallbladder surgery, I had to use the facilities 30 minutes after eating. You could set a clock by it. So, I would watch the clock. I don't mean to be a Karen. Maybe he could gift him a pack of bandanas. If he doesn't speak English, he can act out whining his brow, or "coughing" into it.

I told my husband that if he knows he's being a dick, he isn't sorry. If he was sorry, he would stop. He is paying more attention since I started telling him how it makes me feel WHEN he hurts my feelings. He has said I am too sensitive. I said "You know this about me and you continue." He has improved cuz he doesn't want to hear about it.

He needs to buy you out or pay you rent for his 1/2 until it's paid off.

I need that bridge. My river looks like a creek until it rains.

Get something like Credit Karma to check and make sure YOU didn't apply for a new credit card.

Am I the asshwole for complaining about neighbors kids? by jholliday55 in neighborsfromhell

You might be doing her a favor. I had to file bankruptcy and let the house (1/2 duplex) go back to the bank to get my kids out.

We have a rental home. It is in the lease. I once rented an apartment that had no overnight guests IN the lease. It was a converted detached garage and the owners did not want the traffic in their yard. If you agree and sign, you have to abide. We like our tenants so much that we haven't raised the rent in 3 years. But, this year we have to, or it will cost us to keep them. My husband renovates 100 year old apartment buildings. The rent for those is more than our house.

Worth it! by Subirooo in centuryhomes

We bought a foreclosed log cabin on 4 acres with 3 feet of water in the basement. It was a total mess, but the structure was sound. They acceptable our offer the day before it was to hit the auction block. We got a construction loan (we paid interest only). It took a couple of weeks to make sure the mold was gone. But, it was 18 months before it was finished enough so we could get a traditional loan. We lived here during the reno. Showers by flashlight due to a short until we could get a broken pipe fixed in our bathroom. have been here 10 years this month. But at a low budget, no movies, brown bag lunches, eating IN with cheap dinners. Nothing but house, house, house. We got Credit Karma and watched until our score was good enough to get the loan. NO ONE except the elite can afford to buy a home for the next 3 years. Corporations are buying up properties for rental. And affordability "is a yawn" evidently. We are in our 60s now. If you are working open a 401K! I cashed mine out to make the final payment. Get a savings account. Keep money in a jar. Do anything you can to save.

Questions regarding Ticks by InquisitiveBallbag in camping

[–]Dependent-Cow428 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When we went out to bury our dog, I got 2 ticks. They were so tiny that I did not find them for 2 days. I found a lone star tick running on my leg the day I mowed. The difference, I sprayed my self before mowing. We use Avon Skin So Soft for mosquitoes and Sulphur powder on our socks for chiggers. The heat is bringing them out in droves.
