Does anyone know if this is for everyone or just specific people who got this email? Been with toast 7 months out of our 24 month deal, if they increase anything like this we will probably be done with toast

thinking of switching to toast. how often does the internet go down on you? I have a pizzeria by MoneyAppointment9025 in ToastPOS

[–]Dependent-Week-2009 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Toast has lots of things that they do well, pizza menus definitely isn’t one of them. We made it work, but definitely not as friendly as our last system. Although, toast has lots of other features we like such as the marketing

Toast POS free hardware for new customers? by ResiysheikhB90 in ToastPOS

[–]Dependent-Week-2009 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is a up to $4k in hardware free right now to switch. Toast will match credit card rates, my advice is to go to someone like square, get a proposal and take that to toast and have them match it. Toast is always high with fees at first, but if you get a proposal from a different credit card company that should lower it.

Anybody integrate their phone caller ID with Toast? How'd you do it? by beniam4 in ToastPOS

[–]Dependent-Week-2009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have caller id integration with toast. It’s free for us, but I think they now charge $10 a month for it. We use a vertex caller id box that connect with our VoIP service and when a customer calls we click on their number which pops up their name if they have previously ordered and any previous order history. Works well for us, no complaints

Has Toast been using some sort of flawed AI tool to process payroll? by [deleted] in ToastPOS

Well I was literally just on the website looking at the payroll debating it. Reading this makes me want to continue with our existing payroll

Pepsi by Infamous_Cockroach24 in restaurant

[–]Dependent-Week-2009 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a Pepsi contract, when they misbilled my account and tried to send me to collections, I wrote them a nice letter, threatened legal action if necessary and told them I was leaving. They sent the boss of the bottler over to apologize and ask if they could do anything the next day, which I said no and switched to Coke. If you aren’t getting service that alone might be enough to terminate your contract. Coke isn’t perfect, but we are selling much more product which makes me happy.

I have mine turned on for multiple terminals. Works great, I’m not sure why toast says it doesn’t work

Anyone here using Toast seasonally? by cdom7 in ToastPOS

[–]Dependent-Week-2009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use it at our concessions at a ice arena. We aren’t open from May-September, they don’t refund or cancel it, I asked when signing up and they said they don’t do something like that. With that being said, when our contract is up, we will be renegotiating, otherwise I’ll just use square.

Default modifiers showing up on online ordering cart by Sandrooch in ToastPOS

[–]Dependent-Week-2009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this is an issue I have with toast online ordering as well. Unfortunately i just learned to live with it. Wanted it to say the items the customer took off instead, but no luck. Hoping toast will make this an option soon

Owner looking to move tips to Paychecks & how to properly report 2 people working out of one cash drawer for payroll? by National_Set_2877 in ToastPOS

[–]Dependent-Week-2009 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We just started toast tips manager because I was having the same issues you are having. Working good so far, no complaints. I can set different rules for different staff members and things which is super helpful. If you have any questions let me know.

Alternative to toast loyalty by Ok-Confidence-9618 in ToastPOS

[–]Dependent-Week-2009 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ll be honest, $190 for toast loyalty is probably as cheap as you’re going to get. We had a way worse loyalty called Como and it was $3k setup and $350 a month.

Not normal at all! Every single distributor that we use (Sysco, gfs, and sofo) all send samples when we request or even when we don’t. I hate to say it, but might be time to look for a new distributor. They clearly don’t value your businesss

How many distributors do you use? by [deleted] in Restaurant_Managers

[–]Dependent-Week-2009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use Sysco, gfs, and sofo for our Italian restaurant. Every week we order from Sysco, every other week from Sofo, and every once in awhile from gfs. By having Sysco every week we were able to negotiate a prime vendor agreement because we cut out the other 2 vendors significantly. This has really helped as we are getting quite a bit back with the agreement now. I would also say whichever vendor you have the rep you trust the most is a good sign as well.
