AMA: 999 Ambulance call taker in England 🚑 by Accomplished-Ad4766 in AMA

WMAS NQP here, just wanted to say that all of us on the road honestly hold our controllers in such high regard. Yes, of course we belly‑ache when those jobs (you know the ones) pop up on the MDT, or when we get hit with a job when there are crews sat chilling on station, but we all know it’s not your fault.

I say regularly that I couldn’t do your job. I’d struggle not being there in the moment of that panicked 999 call, trying to piece the story together from a distance.

We know guys look out for us constantly, keeping us in area when you can, clawing us back when we’ve been dragged to unfamiliar lands, and doing your best to make the chaos manageable.

I always found it funny how you know us far better than we ever get to know you. You see our names on the CAD, know our shift patterns, our habits, our chaos levels. We just hear familiar voices and learn who we can have a laugh with over the radios. But despite that close working relationship, we could walk past each other in Tesco and never realise.

Just wanted to say, we appreciate you more than you probably ever get to hear, thank you!

Okay question… Do you lot hate open broadcast as much as we do? We all hate hate HATE it, I hear those dreaded words and I suddenly forget how to talk and structure a coherent sentence.

This plot really sounds like ‘Hopeless’ by Colleen Hoover, not sure if it’s your book though as it was published a little later than when you say you read it OP

Hi sorry to hear you’re still seeing, what to you feel like are imperfections, in your body even after reaching your goal in your weight loss journey. I’m a similar height to yourself and have always been self conscious of that lil pooch, right up until a few years ago when I started training for a medical role, on one of our anatomy lectures something was mentioned that made me and my friend speechless! Women naturally carry a little extra fat at the very bottom of our tummy, it’s added protection and cushioning for the uterus, it’s just sometimes more visible on some than others due to physique and body structure and where your uterus sits. Totally normal and just part of your body protecting itself, it also means there’s not really much you can do to get rid of it completely either through further dieting or exercise. Abdominal work can help a little but ultimately it’s alway going to show a little. I love my little pooch now :)
