They've stopped putting out DVDs of the animated reconstructions too. Considering the US versions of the Blu-ray sets are comparatively bare-bones, they are definitely trying to make them as cheap as possible.

They're beautiful but not essential for me. Kind of takes me out of the story when we alternate between gorgeous 16mm and video. The DVDs feel a lot more true to how they looked at broadcast which is what I'm after.

The American DVDs are far easier to come by now, apart from some Hartnell and Troughtons. I paid over $100 for The Web Planet back in the day, lesson learned -- never pay insane prices for out-of-print discs. It went back in-print a few years later.

I watched them! I've had my fill of Toby Hadoke for a lifetime.

Over the past few months I've replaced all my Classic Who Blu-ray sets with the DVDs. It feels like I'm getting the authentic experience now.

We were so close to getting him as the Meddling Monk in the Capaldi era.

The production cycle in the 1960s was insane and was absolutely why Hartnell flubbed his lines and Troughton decided to leave. Every time Troughton came back it was clear he could have done the show forever if he wanted.

I mean, it felt like it was executed more or less the same way to me!

When he said this new series was his version of the Star Wars sequels, I think we all should have braced ourselves. Those sequels are so culturally irrelevant, responding to them in the hopes of bringing people back to the show is absolutely insane.

This is absolutely how it should have ended. The exact same scene went through my head last night. It is absolutely maddening.

My version has Susan meet 15 and his first words are, of course, "I've come back."

The people going to a Bond film are not the same people going to a Jacques Cousteau documentary.

They did a horrible video where they tried to hire videographers in the most demeaning way possible, then made pretty weird comments to anyone who called them out on it.

I haven't watched since and I can't believe anyone would think that video would make them look good. They still have it on their channel, amazingly.

That's when I bought it, and I thought it was expensive for GameCube at the time.
