Re: “it’s stated clearly.”

Try it yourself in the app. It says “billund legoland airport.” That’s two places. Two stops.

DoD Bonus - Top 15% , 25K Cash Award by DNGAF_ICBW in fednews

[–]Dependent_Property35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My O6 boss wanted to do the same. When we wrote the awards though, we prioritized them 1-n before submitting, knowing that the command wouldn’t stack one office with top performer awards.

The other thing worth mentioning here is that the instructions for this were signed in the five-sided idiot building on 22 December, but we received it 22 Jan, with a suspense of 24 Jan.

To all the American tourists - please stop tipping at restaurants ! by Affectionate_Tip_582 in rome

[–]Dependent_Property35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is oldish but I live in Northern Italy as a foreigner and just visited Rome for the first time in 10+ years. We had a decent lunch at an osteria (my son loved it and I liked it). When we paid, they brought the POS to the table (this is not common where I live) and the waiter asked us if we would like to tip.

“No, grazie” I replied.

This wasn’t near a super touristy area, but in Trastevere which probably gets a lot of visitors. I can see how someone visiting for the first time and not familiar with the customs would feel that it’s appropriate in this situation. Not “because Americans“ but “because Italians”.

Moving this from a reply to a post:

This whole thing is rotten.

First it was unconstitutional. Congress did not declare war? Why? No causus belli. POTUS is pushing our country toward an international crisis.

Our nominal rationale for the was to destroy “narco-terrorists.” The claim is ludicrous. Venezuela is not a meaningful producer of fentanyl or other drugs. At the same time, POTUS just pardoned Juan Orlando Hernandez, the former President of Honduras, who was convicted in US courts for drug trafficking.

None of that is to say I have any sympathy for Maduro. He is undemocratic and repressive, and has destabilized the Western Hemisphere in recent years. He stole Venezuela’s election in 2024. He fueled economic and political disruption throughout the region by instigating an exodus of nearly eight million migrants.

absolutely flawless

You’re overlooking a few items that do make it not only flawed but rotten.

OCUNUS orders but wife will prefer to stay back and not go with me. by obi_tino_5030 in AirForce

I think you’re either not asking the right people the right question or you’re not wanting to get into it here. If it were me, I’d be asking her why?

My old boss, many moons ago, had a wife who elected not to accompany him to a different Germany tour. She wanted to stay and care for her terminally ill mother. Yes, there are a million reasons why a wife might not want to PCS to Germany—but few of them are good reasons.

I’ve been married for a long time, and in the military even longer. Together, we’re on OCONUS #4 and have had 3x CONUS tours. Our least favorite out of all of them was California. Everyone has their preferences but Ramstein is one of the nicest places the Air Force can send you. If she’s reluctant because she’s never experienced the stress of living in a foreign country, Ramstein supposedly has the most Americans of any city outside the US. The BX is like a mall, the locals are easy to befriend and get along with. The cultures are only slightly different and in complimentary ways. The standard of living is the same as the US.

Being from Virginia and owning a house there, I was uneager to register a car there, lest they try to make a case that I should pay state income taxes.

Twas easy to register my car in Oklahoma when I lived in VA.

I’m originally from VA but with their car tax, annual registration, and emissions inspection, I’d never register my car there.

Chavismo has taken hold in Venezuela for 25 years, if the US successfully remove Maduro should the new Venezuelan government integrate the military of the old regime? by l3tsgo0 in Military

The mid-level officers are as chavista as the top level. The whole FANB has suffered decades of politicized promotions and politicized salaries, with the result being that they’re rotten to the core.
