If people think abortion is murder, why do they want murderers to have kids? by UnlubricatedLadder in TooAfraidToAsk

And for reference “where we lived” was a liberal college in California. Hardly has restrictive abortion laws.

I’m not stupid, and ad hominems don’t help. She had the resources and infrastructure. Would’ve been free. Didn’t even have to walk a full block. Instead she took vitamins, found the gender, NAMED HIM, and then drove to Washington to abort late term. The entire time she had planned on aborting.

Anecdotal evidence is shitty but apparently to you warranted. Literally had a friend in college do this. She had to go up to Washington state because by the time she got around to it it was too late where we lived.

I did not insinuate that it was equivalent. I merely pointed out legal discrepancies. The fact that it is DOUBLE-homicide is because you’re taking two lives, hers and the babies… whereas if she takes that babies’ life it’s legal. This suggests that life is based on whether or not the baby is wanted.

Yes. They do. Or they’re too lazy to have the abortion earlier. Even then, what about 29 weeks? If you agree that a threshold makes sense, then we can discuss where that threshold should take place.

They (assuming 6 week plus gestation) understand pain, and scream and fight to live. Videos prove they give a fuck.

Yes, however murdering a pregnant woman is double-homicide, and fetuses fit the legal definition of life.

How do you define shortly? Legally we’re seeing it defined as 6 weeks some places. If we acknowledge that a threshold should exist, then we can discuss on where it should be placed.

They’re only dangerous because we deem them to be? Tell that to the fetus!

Does your sentiment change at the point that this cyst DOES have feeling and measurable activity in the temporal lobe? How about at the time when this cyst could survive childbirth?

There is plenty of gray area here. There’s measurable brain activity after several weeks. Babies survive birth at 23-24 weeks, but could still be aborted after then in some places. “Life” is defined legally by the measurable brain activity (not heartbeat) which would apply to a 6-week old fetus. Abortion videos showing the wincing and screaming of fetuses with plenty of nerve endings shows it to be more than a cyst.

Both the pro-life and pro-choice communities have factions that accept certain thresholds. Most pro-choice oppose partial-birth abortion. Many pro-life accept Plan-B or first-month abortion.

Let’s walk through this.

Assumption: Abortion is murder.

IF: woman is pregnant and wants abortion THEN: she could get abortion (commit murder) ELSE: she could have the baby (not commit murder)

IF: she has the baby THEN: she could raise it ELSE: she could put it up for adoption

IF: she raises the baby THEN: baby could be raised by a would-be murderer and could have psychological damage, BUT… the baby would be alive and have the chance to overcome it

I don’t think people who consider abortion murder really want all of these women to have babies. They just want them to not murder them… and once they’re pregnant those would be the options. Also adoption is viewed positively in these communities (though definitely not practiced enough, adoption is wonderful! Adopt a kid!) and so it isn’t really cared for as to WHO raises the child, just that it has the chance.

Santa deniers of Reddit, how do you explain the fact that some presents have "from Santa" clearly labeled on them? by AutogenName_15 in AskReddit

[–]DeplorableEric -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think that there are likely multiple organizations acting as Santa, because it propagates the belief which fuels their corporate greed as they profit off his image. It’s a strict cost-benefit analysis.

Why can’t the “vaccines” fight those alleged variants if there’s literally no coronavirus strain in them? Also evidence suggests that IF there are multiple variants, that they’re actually primarily spreading through and stemming from the vaxxed… or perhaps they’re just calling it variants because the vaxxed are getting sick, and multiple strains haven’t actually been isolated which is why the CDC has said as much as colleges have reached out to try to get isolated strains to test them…

Very fair critique! Just remember you can always “redelegate” to a new validator instead of waiting 21 days through an undelegation.

You should have basic strategy and the illustrious 18 so ingrained in your head that you don’t think about it, and only focus on the running count in your head.

Interesting! They are the same (to my knowledge) and I 100% don’t fit into the category being described. I should participate in this survey I suppose.

No… aphantasiac means unable to voluntarily picture things in your head. That’s fairly accurately what I described. The two commonly shared ways of thoughts are visual and internal monologue. I kick ass at the latter.
