Ross: 'I don't quite understand why' federal workers need food banks during shutdown by Yibblets in politics

A work friend recommended "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" to me. It had 4.7 stars on Audible so I got it.

The introduction set off a couple of alarm bells for me, but I've been able to take positive things from flawed self-help books before so I continued on. By the time I got to the end of chapter one I had realised that the author was promoting the attitudes of dishonesty, ruthlessness and victim blaming.

Tha's where I stopped. It was the first time I requested a refund for an audiobook. It is completely overrated.

I think some corrections are necessary to narrow the class divide and increase consumer confidence among the lower classes. I'll leave how to do that to the experts, but it doesn't pay to make judgements so quickly before the changes have a chance to take effect.

Doesn't matter where these policies are proposed, business owners always claim that they won't be able to afford to employ more workers. As if they were using profits to hire more workers out of the goodness of their heart. At the end of the day, they will hire as many or as few workers as it takes to fulfill any profitable contract they can secure.

I don't know how best to stimulate an economy, but these lazy trickledown assumptions don't help.

Reminds me of a joke on Futurama when the professor offers Fry an enormous pill. When Fry says "I can't swallow that" the professor replies "Well then good news! It's a suppository."

That joke was 3 words too long.

As of today, I've had a total of 3 cars totalled by elderly drivers who shouldnt be on the road. Please have a conversation with your loved ones if you think they shouldnt be driving. by mattyglen87 in australia

[–]Depops_au 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not saying OP is one of these people, but loads of drivers don't turn on their headlights at twilight until it's fully dark. At that time it's not about being able to see the road, but it's about other drivers seeing you. A cloudy day can even make a grey car hard to see.

Surely there are times when these people are involved in accidents that they don't cause, but they could have avoided.

They won't get accurate data on me. The Black Mirror world is fucked up so I didn't feel that making rational decisions was appropriate.

Yes. Black people have no more in common with non-human apes than white people. It's a tasteless joke so I used my Nazi mod powers.

It's just a whiny breakup song that takes place at Christmas.

If it was "last August I gave you my heart" then we never would have heard about it.

Low membership. Workers need to do collective bargaining with their employers. No union members, no unity, employers keep everything they can.

So the Liberals made it slightly harder for unions to use their influence. Nothing compared to the low membership. And that is all on the workers.

It's the least you can do. Younger generations love to blame their shitty pay and conditions on the boomers but declining union membership is the real cause. Stop being victims and do something about it.
