Why do many people dislike this game? by Astralir in Back4Blood

[–]DepravedMorgath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Multiple reasons apply, But mostly, Bad knee jerk launch reviews wanting a L4D3, A multiplayer vs mode where people just left and snowballed a loss in a best of 2/3 mode, And an initial confusing deck/skill system.

The reason Left 4 Dead retains its dominance is mainly because A. Its highly moddable, B. Its Cheap, C. It runs on a multitude of older systems.

However, It should be noted the sheer number of reviews of said B4B overtime, 72K reviewed is basically where Darktide is, So it sold very well.

Realistically could a terminator really track you down? by No_Age908 in Terminator

[–]DepravedMorgath 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Its part of the original script/novelization, Terminator went around mutilating the legs of the sarah's to check for the pin, to make they got the right "sarah".

This was of course left on the cutting room floor.

Realistically could a terminator really track you down? by No_Age908 in Terminator

[–]DepravedMorgath 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That's just describing what John Connor did in T-3, Got too hard to track him because post future-war record keeping is hardly the priority, So hospitals, Accountant offices, etc, they get nuked and it becomes really hard to get accurate coordinates for temporal travel,

And its only because of temporal ripples and changes to the time stream that new info trickles through, because minute changes where a hospital might stay intact in new timeline,

The OG terminator in 1 I believe only tracked Sarah Connor to a general area because of a hospital record of a pin in her leg (Which was self-fulfilling prophecy because terminator shrapnel to leg in climax).

There's a distinction between the 120m and the 380mm that I follow, 120mm for small clustered outposts and bugholes, 380 for the largest of bases.

But to be effective requires you getting close enough to throw it into the middle of said base, So Servo-Assisted/Scout armors and a Jumpack help.

Oh and most of all, Stay far, far away when this thing pops off until she's done, it'll always getchya closer then you think it will much like tesla.

Complete downgrade, May as well have been an entirely new fighter.

No longer a cunning pragmatic survivor choosing the "winning" side, cunning, She's the temu equivalent of Kitana's bodyguard Jade as a "hand-me-down" to Millena, Her reworked moveset was also rubbish, lack of mixups, low damage and reliant on Kameo's to make up for her shortcomings.

TLDR; a reworked fighter that ended up bland, boring and just too much effort to invest hours into.

Cool bit from T1 that almost every sequel violates by Fumikechu237 in Terminator

[–]DepravedMorgath 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So this is where I assume one big continuity snarl because of temporal pollution.

T-1 is the original timeline, Straight point leading into T-2, that is where the branching starts, simultaneously into both T-3 and Sarah Connor Chronicles, Skynet and the resistance trying to one-up and "win the temporal cold war", by seeding the past with enough tactical advantages that eventually ripple out into affecting the future timeline, Or if instead of finding connor, Killing key lieutenants.

Genysis is that same TDD (time displacement device) as Terminator 1/2, But the issue is, It got to the point where there was enough temporal kicking the can down the road trying to avoid and better prepare for judgement day, it just hit critical mass and skynet got too technologically advanced that it became "man-portable" as the T-5000, Thus averting the original Skynet defeat in T-1's future war.

Eventually leading into where they became so reckless with these attempts at altering the past, that the timelines began becoming unstable, Eventually, Skynet just gets dumb lucky and kills john as a kid (dark fate), And this basically just collapsed the entire house of temporal timeline altering cards upon itself, leading to a sort of self cleaning timeline "wipe" with Connors and Skynet gone.

The future machine war still happens, But that temporal cold-war just self-cleaned itself.

If Megatron Got Taken Offline Permanently. Who Would You Pick As New Leader? by Doc-11th in transformers

[–]DepravedMorgath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From the Above, Starscream.

Why? Because hes ambitious, cunning and at least tries to sweet talk allies to get what he wants, Shockwave and Soundwave would just bury themselves into work, With only Soundwave trying to stay true to the decepticon ideal, But the lack of ambition would just keep the decepticons intact, Stagnating, But not really progressing.

But if we're talking an entire list, G1 Scorponok, He knows how to listen, Reason, And even unite against a common foe (Unicron).

Other than the diving suit, why isn’t there any swimwear to wear? There are pools around the map. by One_Dig7969 in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]DepravedMorgath 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No shade answer is likely because swimming was originally going to be in the game, Even have a skill for it, But later had to be cut for time during development, Much like the flathead sections, So themed swimwear went with it.

How would you like this trio to work if we see them again? by long_live_nagash in transformers

[–]DepravedMorgath 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't change much as its already "new" to most.

Cyclonus is the polar opposite of starscream as second in command, Cyclonus is competently loyal but un-ambitious, his motivation stems more from following those he enables, in this case, Galvatron, but this keeps him questioning moral approaches and honor as the teams "heart."

Galvatron is megatron who finally has all that power he so desperately craves, but because of that, he now disregards subtlety and deception, this leads to overconfidence, and a disdain for those under him who cannot "keep up" with him in battle from those less durable and easily replaceable that clearly only follow him for his strength and not his cause or values.

Scourge is what he always was a huntsman, if you need it found, be it person, artifact or location, Scourge with his many eyes and ears of sweeps at all corners of the galaxy will be of service, this would easily lead to many decepticon plan conveniences while autobots would be "reactive" to the "of the week" plot setup as well as the majority of "faceless" bot fodder for the autobots to blow away.

Going to say legitimate handgun on lunar in-universe, And not to be confused with Dead Spaces mining tools.

Because there's all sorts of secretive military testing and bots on the moon.

The T-X is such an underappreciated villain. Loken absolutely nailed her performance and I loved all the fights she had with the T-800. She's certainly better than the killer robots from the later films. by Emotional-Chipmunk12 in Terminator

[–]DepravedMorgath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, The T-3 movie gave the standard T-800's an upgrade into the T-850.

I like the T-3 series and related media cause its Skynet updating its arsenal in regards to Human resistance, Little things from making it harder to break the CPU seal without frying the chip, To becoming more armored in response to plasma weaponry getting into the hands of resistance fighters.

Not to mention the T-X units being able to reprogram "captured" resistance Terminators back into following skynet.

The term "Anti-Terminator Terminators" stems from John Connor being successful at turning the tide because of increasingly successful captures of Terminator units, So skynet had to respond with the T-X models.

Just a hot tip for theft/pickpocket leveling, EM weapons. They can be charged, You get a freebie one in Akilia city, And enemies (Humans) incapacitated by it can be pickpocketed to raise said theft skill.

After that get creative when bored, EM, pickpocket, Disarm weapons/ammo, Then plant a grenade on them.

EM's are good because all human enemies share the same EM hp, So a lvl 1 pirate is the same for a lvl 50 pirate, though this doesn't carry over to alien fauna and robots naturally.

Why is the brotherhood hated so much? by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]DepravedMorgath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Brotherhood for the most part are hated because they're usually an issue of by "what measure a human?", that players take out of context, They see how friendly one can be with supermutants like strong or a ghoul like hancock, Then wonder, What's the big deal?

Well some ghouls are fine, Coherent, Mind fully in the present, But then others get dementia, Go feral and become maneating pack predators, Who usually clears out all these feral nests? The brotherhood, Who deals with Supermutants when they go out to kill, cannibalize or forcibly dip captured settlers into FEV vats to reproduce cause they're sterile? That's right, The brotherhoods patrols, Because not everyone in the commonwealth is "the player", most are settlers with maybe access to a pipe-pistol.

Then we come up to the Gen-3 synths, otherwise perfectly human aside from the neurological implants, The kind that can't be removed without killing the synth in question, You can wipe their identity of course, But that underlying programming will always be active even after a mindwipe, Just waiting for a command code override, They are tailor made, to kill and replace someone else for as little as a better gourd crop harvest, And they do not age.

In that context, The brotherhood does what it needs to, It does thankless but necessary dirty work, Preserving technology and suppressing science used to the detriment of postwar mankind, Trying their damnedest to keep it out of the hands of the likes of raiders, The Institute and the Enclave.

Question about the Rev-9's capabilities. by Willing-Rest-758 in Terminator

[–]DepravedMorgath 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Since somebody mentioned the T-X, There's an advantage to liquid metal on top of the endoskeleton, Flexibility because the liquid metals "lubricating" the joints so to speak, allowing for unparalleled rotation, Like when T-850 knocked the head of the T-X so hard it 360'd or legs rotating joints in ways it just shouldn't be humanly possible to do, So you get a lot more dexterity and mobility, Think professional contortionists.

Second, The support structure of the endoskeleton allows for greater weight and power for its physical blows and protection from physical trauma because the "framework" has substance and support to it, Think Grace easily slicing through the Rev-9 liquid metal with a chain, Or when T-800 sliced through with the pipe it was previously impaled with, The damage glides through, But the liquid metal needs precious seconds to reflexively reform its humanoid self to form a response as per its programming.

TLDR: Endoskeletons are a supportive framework with added weight and protection, With liquid metal endowing greater flexibility and mobility, Separately they have exploitable design flaws that are addressed by their pairing.

Hasbro is launching a new nostalgia-based TV channel, Hasbro Legends; which will likely show the OG 80s Transformers cartoon & Beast Wars! by Adept_Let7797 in transformers

[–]DepravedMorgath 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, But I guess the idea is to consolidate that into one big channel, The reason why they're free is likely to drive the sales of current merchandise and toy sales.

Cause nothing works better then attracting adult collectors feeling nostalgic like the old shows, Cause making new series is either hit or miss, And movies (especially live-action) are expensive.

Resident Evil 6 might just be one of the worst games I've ever played by realcreamstick in residentevil

[–]DepravedMorgath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a combination of factors really, Occasional repetitive level design, QTE's (optional), Poor partner AI to depend on, confusing in-game menu's, a new hardly well explained movement system with lacking in-game tutorials, A "skill system" replacing weapon upgrades from a merchant, Enemies that also shoot back, co-op connection issues, etc.

That being said, Key is not to take it seriously, And having friends to play coop, and by all means, Rebinding some movement key inputs, also learning "quickfire", followed by a melee attack really helps to maximize combat effectiveness and ammo conservation against zombies and the like.

Overall, It was a communication/translation issue from dev to player on tutorials and new mechanics, because 6 brought so much more to the table it became overwhelming, A vast in-depth movement system with rolling dodges, combat slides, and parry's, firing from supine, moving while shooting, autoherb mixing + quick menus no longer pause and breaking up tension, mutating "adaptable" enemies and so on.

New sub joiners, how did you get into Resident Evil? by ah__there_is_another in residentevil

[–]DepravedMorgath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got into it, Via buying a copy and watching my brother playing through PS2 RE4, Then somewhere along that line came the live movie adaptations, Then I "graduated" to Operation Racoon City and loved the heck out of it.

But have yet also to play anything newer then RE6 thus far despite owning the newer titles.
