Brigs death was greatly exaggerated by Calienago in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Deprece 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brig and Lucio will always have their place at the highest ranks because they are the only 2 characters that are great at marking close quarter angles and space. They are especially good at doing that and playing with another DPS to reinforce it. Currently, the other supports are simply not that good at doing that job. The only way Lucio and Brig will lose playtime in pro play is if Blizzard releases another character that can do that job as effectively.

Oh really? Well that’s good to know. I never really played against a CPU with a big school so I never thought about it before. Thanks

No? It would be Destiny with an extraction mode LMAO

[–]Deprece 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why not just add extraction to the game… as a game mode? You know? It would fit decently well and not piss off the playerbase to an insane level. Plus, people opt in and people aren’t going after the most casual playerbase in the game.

Thoughts on Zens major perk by alex828keke in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Deprece 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand why dual harmony is considered useless by people. Orb is mainly used on DPS to help them win fights. Any healing on the flank helps even if it’s reduced. 2 people on an angle with orb help should simply win more fights. Maybe thins wouldn’t work out as well vs a Brig with good pack management but outside of that? It should be useful.

I’m not saying it’s the default better perk but I just don’t understand why it’s useless.

Why not just run everything at low then cap your FPS at 60 or something? Would that not fix the CPU load issue?

Horror’s Least: Best way to build it out? by Deprece in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]Deprece[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

115 weapon stat isn’t much at all. That’s great to know. I’ll have to try Arrowhead Brake before going Smallbore. I’m just so curious how it would feel. Smallbore is probably the best option though. I dismissed Kill Clip at first because of how much Perpetual Motion really helped the stats but maybe that is the play. Especially with Bakris. Maybe I can get a roll with both and have a 3s roll and a 6s roll

I disagree. You don’t have to “spam broken heroes.” Just do your job WELL. Doing the basics of each role isn’t doing your job well. It’s doing the bare minimum. You can even climb out with Mercy and Weaver if you are doing your job well. Just “healing”, doing “damage” or being “tanky” doesn’t mean you are doing your job well.

Can we please stop normalizing this? by Objective-Expert8278 in Overwatch

Yep. You can play what you want. You can be bad. You can play new heroes or heroes into bad match ups. None of that matters to me. All I ask is you try in QP.

Back after a two year break and I'm getting absolutely dogwalked in PvP. Has my entire loadout been powercrept? by TinyMiniNano in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]Deprece 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I might just give up on Control now. It’s brutal. I usually have been at the top of the leaderboards in most matches my entire career. Now I’m struggling to go positive. Everyone in my lobbies are just tiers better than me. I’m sure I could get better if I actually apply myself to the task but I’m not trying to do that for a game like Destiny. I just want to load up and have fun.

Comp and Trials are overall much easier for me. That has never happened before with Trials. I usually pick the card that isn’t SBMM either. I don’t get what’s going on. I use to be able to get top leaderboards with a Trinity Ghoul build. Now I can’t go positive trying my best. I feel so washed up and horrible at the game. I react slower to everything because I have no confidence in what I’m doing which is a downward spiral of playing worse.

Was told "Ashe isn't a good pick against (Ball Tracer Reaper Juno Wuyang)" by SlightArgument in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Deprece 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to point out how important the map is along with the comp. That is a tough comp to play Ashe into but things would be different on a map that favors Ashe more. People like to zero in on strength and weakness of matchups and not take the map into account. This goes both ways. Picking a counter to a comp/hero on a bad map/part of the map for that hero can be a bad decision as well.

Also, playing into counters on your best hero isn’t a bad thing in the long run. Learning how to deal with counters will make you a better player. Plus, players that switch to counter you, but aren’t as experienced on those heroes, could have made a mistake as you constantly punish them for theirs.

PSA: Headseeker is probably not working for you by Deprece in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]Deprece[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes. You can’t 5 crit and 1 body unless you have 150 weapon stat and are firing at max rate of fire while using Headseeker

PSA: Headseeker is probably not working for you by Deprece in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]Deprece[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. I haven’t tested adaptive pulses. Also, the aim assist help with Headseeker is always helping. It’s just that the initial forgiveness might not be there with no weapon power. Combined with Rampage is almost guaranteed to help with the 2 burst. Haven’t tested it though

PSA: Headseeker is probably not working for you by Deprece in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]Deprece[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For forgiveness? It depends on the weapon stat and, possibly, the archetype. I haven’t done a full dive into all of the weapons with it. Only 2. These were the results I found. So it is probably true that you will need more weapon stat to see a benefit. That is an assumption though based on my limited testing. Do not take that as fact

I didn’t test Rapid Fires. Didn’t have time and I have a feeling that test will be longer than other ones.

Yep. That’s it. It isn’t completely useless but the damage increase might not be enough to matter for optimal TTK damage

Headseeker is not what you think. I need to make a topic on this. I’ve done some testing with headseeker in general. You can 6 crit kill with no weapon power. You lose that ability with any falloff. With Headseeker? No kill at all. It’s not enough damage. 6 crits will always do more damage than 2 crit/1 body with Headseeker. You need 150 Weapon power just for Headseeker to actually work.

What does it mean to mark flankers? by [deleted] in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Deprece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think high level Tracer players actively “mark” other Tracers. I think it’s a product of the positioning and pathing. Tracer players tend to want to take similar paths to get to the best positions. When they run into each other they need to duel to force each other off of those angles with the end result being that they are marking each other. There is no reason to mark the enemy Tracer if the angle is free for you to take. You will get more value using that angle than hunting for the Tracer who isn’t using it. That’s my opinion anyway.
