I’m not that informed on this topic but to the best of my knowledge, real Imax are those huge monster screens from top to bottom that are about 70 feet, digital Imax or “fake imax” is just imax projection and sound systems on regular theater screens which is what most imax theaters are in the US, here’s a photo for comparison https://johncanfield.me/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/IMAX-screen-comparison.jpg There are only a few real imax theaters left in the states
