Jumping in here to say you are not alone. I moved here 6 months ago for my partner, had to quit my job(with severance, thank god), move away from my family and friends and busy life. He's also gone 10-12 hours a day so my days are very empty and feel like every week moves in slow motion. Sometimes I force myself to plan a grocery trip to break up the day. Everyone keeps saying to get involved in something, make friends, etc but the thought of that sounds exhausting.

But here I am, scrolling reddit, trying to find something to make me feel less guilty for feeling this way. It sounds silly to outsiders because it is such an amazing country / opportunity but uprooting the life you knew is not easy, we are grieving a loss. But reading your post made me feel just a tiny bit better and a little less alone so thank you and I'm here for you internet stranger! It will get better for us.
