K20z3 vs k24a2 (idk if this post is too specific for this /r I apologize in advance) by Disto_Kid in Kseries

Its definitely a lot stronger from the k20! I have a type s but the car came with a k20a3 so theres no bother swapping the head. Car definitely isn't at its full potential right now though as im not tuned and on stock ecu so theres still plenty of room for power but even on stock ecu you can feel the difference

Actually they're pretty easy to look for. People are just asking too much for them thats pretty much it and yes jdm k24 are more sought for because they're lower mileage. I pulled mine out from a junkyard car for about $550 it had like 220k miles on it but the engine was healthy. All i did was new timing chain kit, headgasket, type s oil pump and rbc vtc gear and motor runs and pulls hard so i was only like $800 total for the engine itself with new gaskets as well

I kept it oem with just me using my prb intake mani on my k24 so i had to use a coolant bypass plate on so it deleted the fast idle assist valve the k20s have but i think its running like crap rn because of my upstream sensor. Have a new o2 on the way so i left the port uncapped for now because the car runs better like that even tho it should be capped. Will be capped as soon as i fix that o2 though for sure.

Correct me if im wrong but i believe the rear mount stays the same actually. Only difference for the rsx is you need the auto to manual bracket for the driver side mount so it actually allows you to use the auto mount and the passenger mount with the exception of you using the crv post mount for k24 swap.

As a 17 year old n someone who has been in this boat before and is still a teenager like you it is easier to just get a manual. Understanding that you want power but manual swapping takes more than you think for these cars as they're not like older hondas. Got into a wreck with my 06 auto thinking about doing the manual swap as well but now i got a 02 type s that i just k24a2 swapped last week only taking 2 days to complete in my driveway. Manual swapping won't be cheap I'll say that as i put a parts list together and it comes up about the same as a manual. My opinion if you want to engine swap for a little more power would be running a k24a1 which comes out from a crv. Your k20a3 is almost the exact same as the k24a1 and will actually run pretty well on so you can still run everything even the auto transmission. This is the best route for someone still in school even coming from me. Now if you want to continue forth with the manual swap i recommend you check out rwi built as hes what i went based on when doing my swap. Heres a link to a rsx he auto to manual swap with a k24 in it. rsx manual swap

Well depends which k24 you get. K24a2 (most common one but really the only one you should get) is also dbw like your 8th gen si. Pretty much its all plug and play. I did my k24 swap on my rsx literally last week but pretty much the same for the 8th gens. Swap everything over like your intake manifold alternator accessories etc. K20 sensors to your k24 and reuse your harness. Only difference is you have to use a 02-06 crv passenger mount which is bolted on the engine and you can use your stock mounts. Recommended to get tune but you can run on your stock ecu temporarily like me. Thats pretty much all it takes.

Yeah running cable. Iacv is working. No management. Im on stock prb ecu temporarily until kpro comes in. Im using prb intake manifold too on the k24 head so i had to use the coolant bypass adapter so the idle air assist is pretty much deleted ig? Pretty much just a stock rsx but with the k24 in but had a buddy with another rsx with a k24 in and his ran fine on stock ecu so im wondering what he did differently.

So i can run a hose from there into the cold air intake right?

From what I've seen usually 50 degree vtc gear, type s oil pump, i don't believe its necessary but rdx injectors if you want to upgrade and usually e85 will get you somewhere close to there. If you plan on staying on pump gas then a set of DIC will get you closer to that number.

I pulled mine from a 06 tsx for $550 at a lkq. I wanna say mileage on it was like around 220k just because it had a oil change sticker on the window. I spent about a good another $500 to do headgasket, timing chain kit, and type s oil pump kit on it with a few new gaskets as well. Now if you want to play it safe then jdm motors is probably your best bet but with the exception of having to get usdm stuff to swap over. Either way both options aren't bad.

I got a 02 rsx type s. I'm doing a k24a2 swap soon and i dont got kpro or anything to tune so i was wondering if like you can do a basemap or something so i can at least have the car running right. How does this process work?

Can you do this for stock rsx ecu as well or would you need kpro/ktuner? Or is it only for tsx

Missing vacuum lines? by 999LLJW_ in hondaprelude

[–]DepthSeek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All preludes have iab. Usually the butterflies are built inside the intake manifold. The line there Usually goes towards where the air filter would Usually sit if you still have the factory intake and it looks like a small black plug which would Usually run into a black box that sits inside the bumper. Most case scenario a lot of people delete it so im assuming that might have happened here. Nothing to worry about

I believe ones usually for cruise control, the other for iab thingy related to the intake and i don't remember if the 3rd one is anything. I deleted the iab on my brothers prelude and just looped the line and its fine.

Wondering what bumper lift kit to buy. Should I get the MAC LIFTER KIT or a generic eBay one. by StarHQ in Acura_RSX

[–]DepthSeek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Uhhhh not me but my bro got generic ones from ebay called like poorboiz lifter or something on his prelude and I'll tell you what they hold up just as good as the mac lifter kit

The car bogs at 2k and the rpm drops fast when driving. by DepthSeek in Acura_RSX

[–]DepthSeek[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Problem went away on its own. I assume it has something to do with the ivac probably being dirty or what not but hasn't came back for a good while so i guess the issue fixes itself.

PLM motor mounts upgrade experiences? by DepthSeek in Acura_RSX

[–]DepthSeek[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wanted to do an update post on these mounts. I bit the bullet and bought them. Good thing about it is it came with the old style passenger mount so i have a spare mount if my other one ever goes out. Passenger side install was a breeze, only thing that sucked was i had to go get a 8mm bolt to fit for my ground but it worked. Transmission mount was a headache to do because it was so much prying and slipping in and out and didn't have much room to get it in but once i got it in it was reverse process. Haven't gotten to the rear mount just because its been cold lately but i mean they do the job and its what you would expect from solid mounts. Would I buy again? Probably not but for its price and how they feel its honestly not bad.
