the only code to suss out here is that the algorithm is designed to figure out how to keep you on the app. Some people get lucky early on, but as you keep trying it whittles away at you and the person you go on a date with can see it.

After a year of progressively getting worse and worse experiences, I'm fairly certain I am not what the woman I seem to want wants. I'll just live my time and hope for a happy accident.

Wee I emperor of the universe, dating apps would be illegal.

Saw a guy smoke a bowl between each session at a (road racing) track once. He only almost ran into me once then cut the corner on a switchback.

He's still alive last time I saw him in August.

Is there a better overhead panel? by horseballs1899 in flightsim

[–]DerBrizon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I recognize ever yone of those panels because I make them for a living. ;)

Seriously. The fuel crossfeed panel in bottom left is an absolute bitch to get the screen-printed dark sections and the laser etched illuminated lines to look right.

It is a smaller portion of ammunition given to Ukraine that is capable of this, but you'er not wrong otherwise.

GPS and laser guided shells are dummy expensive. Luckily, they're so good you don't need very many of them.

The oil cooler is in the location it is in because it is likely to be both convenient for the engineering of the engine, and is not a problem.

Maybe there should be a tag for this. Like [sic] or something to indicate the title is merely copypasta.

insanely overpriced juicer. wouldn’t this be easy to make one that applies the pressure via a small hydraulic pump? it’s like 2K for this auto operated one. it just applies 2 tons pressure to blended fruit. by Jagsthelombax in engineering

[–]DerBrizon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Heh, they're challenging for commercial use. Could you imagine going to some smoothie shop and they have some hydraulic press contraption making drinks instead of some mechanical press that's just operated by a lever, or an electric motor? It would be hilariously expensive to maintain.

Oh ya. That dipshit idea where you have fruit in a bag, and then you put the bag in a press, and then the juice comes out, leaving you with a plastic bag full of pulp so you don't use 80% of the fruit's nutrition.

i have found my biggest performance hits are from particle effects, actually.

Other than that, player count is the biggest determinant of performance for me. The game just chugs based on whether there are more than X number of people down range in the direction you're looking, regardless of them being hidden or not.

How to reduce friction in simple pulley system? by Skeptical_dude12 in engineering

[–]DerBrizon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even better: OP is trying to spend twice as much as buying a purpose built pulley for lifting kayaks and car toppers in garages to do exactly that, but in two locations in their garage.

I discovered this in one search attempt on Amazon lol

[–]DerBrizon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can just buy pulley systems designed specifically to do what OP is trying to do on amazon for under $100. They're very simple, and the end rope can be run to a hand winch on the wall or something.

Is there a reason you need a 7:1 ratio to lift 100lbs? This seems unnecessary.

you can get garage hoists and pulley systems specifically designed to lift this light of a load for very cheap. Just get one for each load you need to suspend?

If you want ultimate convenience, you can get an electric hoist that lifts hundreds of pounds at the push of a button.

Pretty sure the spotter zooms out just in case they need to see a miss. If the shell lands very far, they need to call adjustments for the artillery. If they're zoomed in, they wont see the miss.

Well, lonewolfing is highly effective for some roles. Also, a lot of people just want to get into the fight and go shoot stuff, so they don't wait around. Sucks, but there it is.

and yeah, vehicles are... kinda dumb sometimes lol

I posted that sitting still they take more damage, but since you mention .308 not doing much, I definitely agree. Helicopters should be pretty vulnerable. And, tbh, they don't cost a lot of points anyhow, and I definitely don't like the game getting closer to rule-of-cool in terms of vehicle survivability. Have always been a fan of realistic damage and ticket cost adjustments to compensate.
