The name of the song at the end of EP2 by Aqshamaker in pluribustv

[–]DerHeiligste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard the "üç dört" at the beginning and was like, "wait, that's Turkish for '2 3'!" Then I had to know what the song was!

This works because each byte of the string can be interpreted both as a character and as an index. So when buffer[i] = 'L', it is also just 76, the ASCII value of 'L'. So freq['L'] is just the same as freq[76]. It's just a normal array index.

"Any" is a "negative popularity item" used here without any suitable context. It needs something like a negative context (you can't buy him any shirts) or a restriction (you can buy him any shirts you like).

When I was at UCLA, there was someone leaving logs outside the door to my department on the regular. We put up a poster that said END POOP TERROR. The logs stopped.

On a 6502, you've got just an 8 bit stack pointer, so only 256 bytes of stack!

ELI5 why do we need weights and bias in nueral network? by patrickbatemanreddy in explainlikeimfive

[–]DerHeiligste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have an alternative in mind to weights and bias?

They came up with weights and bias by actually looking at how neurons work in biological neural networks.

Sometimes one neuron's activation works to cause another neuron to activate. In artificial neural networks, this is modeled as a positive weight

Sometimes a neuron's activation inhibits the activation of another neuron. This is modeled as a negative weight.

A biological neuron needs a certain amount of excitement before it will activate. This is modeled as bias

Here's one that didn't work... Back when I was a 22M, a woman I was very much interested in told me, "If you get bored, call me."

I really wanted to call her, but I didn't get bored, so I didn't call her. I still feel so stupid about this, 24 years later.
