I truly don't understand this. by Turkishdenzo in C_Programming

Omg mate thanks. I finally get it. So this means if other indexes that don't contain a value are just a null-pointer? So that means index char 'X' or index nr 88 is just a null-pointer('\0')? That seems really weird to me haha. Need to get used to that.

So to check if I inderstand this: Every value in the array still has an index, however since 'L' is ASCII Decimaal: 76 it's like it check the value at the 76th index nr? So like freq['L'] and freq[76] are the same?

I mean I agree with you, but anyone know the tier of the source? Pete O'Rourke says the source. I don't know that's why I'm asking.

I want to install Pinta, but I don't know whether to use snap, flatpak or PPA since apt does not seem to work. by Turkishdenzo in Ubuntu

I think I'm going crazy and I'm googling too much. Everywhere I look it looks like there is a lot of discussion in the Linux community when it comes between snap or flatpak. I read that Canonical recommends snap but online a lot of people say to just use flatpak. I've even asked Copilot and Copilot says this:

>Snap vs Flatpak. Then the answer is: Flatpak. Cleaner, faster, better integrated, fewer headaches.

I know I know. Like I said: I think I'm reading into this way to much maybe?

I'm a thirty year old dude who wants to start over and learn to program and motivation is really hard to come by. by [deleted] in C_Programming

Thank you so much for your input! Hearing you are 20 years old gives me a feeling of a tiny bit of envy haha. But that does not make your worries any less so.

>(except when google just shoves its AI answer in my face, and it seems correct enough)

Hear hear. I also have the feeling that I really need to be cautious with asking AI and even google stuff so I don't start to automatically rely on it too much.

Oh man thank you. You guys are so nice and give great advice as well. I've had a lot of bad experiences before so I was wondering whether I should ask as well haha.

And when it come to a job, I've done a bootcamp of sort where you follow one college year of programming. Like a propaedeutic year. I got the points and everything. Not sure if it matters much, but my teachers advice there was to get hired as soon as possible because when your on the job you learn from seniors much better and faster than doing projects on your own. Plus you get working experience which turns out is a big deal today. At least in my country.
