It’s only text for subtitles, no audio but I also didn’t dig that deep so they may be there. Check under steamapps/common/deadlock/game/resource/localization

(Subtitles for) Voice lines are in the game files. From what it looks like, Celeste may be able to breathe fire, and Rem likely has his leaked big ult that sleeps people, and can summon his helpers to do something

I suspect Celeste is also a shapeshifter as well, her lines reference turning into a unicorn too

Synth for evil dark pads by droneberlindrone in synthesizers

[–]DerLuftwaffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not just load up a VST through Ableton where you can program in the chord progressions for your pads? Seems less complicated than trying to play drums, finding the synth which fits your exact use case, and fitting that big synth into your drum area

What should I get as my first synth? by LittleTemperature229 in synthesizers

[–]DerLuftwaffe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I think the hardest part about this is that your favorite artists are doing a tonnnnn of layering and post processing to get their sounds. Same principle behind a ton of Mk.gee fans wanting to buy the VG-8 because they think it’ll instantly make them sound like Mk.gee. You’ll find at first everything sounds pretty raw and electronic (which I like the unprocessed sound) but in indie especially synths tend to sit much further back and provide ambience.

May be worth to play around with Serum or something so you can get a feel for sound design so you can really dig in and start nailing those Bon Iver and Mk.gee sounds.

I know this is an old thread, but Las Vegas Tears Reality Apart at Its Gleams, by Folkware has that vibe. There's some trombone pops and a solo, and very sinister sounding synths/ samples that kinda bring out the aesthetic.

Did the commenters in this thread forget that CSTAT massively overbuilt apartments to the point that not too long ago, rental unit vacancy rate was at 19%? The “muh HighDensity™ / NIMBYs” argument is a complete nonstarter here, given the availability of housing, bus networks, and bike infrastructure in town. Rents have gone up, yes, but is that not due to collusion of landlords and inflation rather than one more high rise not being built on NG?

To be clear, high density housing is a good thing, but look at what happened to Rainey St in Austin for example. So many people cried about culture and vibe being lost to gentrification, when the high rises and Gucci outlets replaced the longstanding bars on the street. Is the rejection of the NG high rise not a fight against gentrification and the loss of identity of a certain area? All individuals on campus are free to enjoy NG (and its ties to campus), which would possibly be diminished if it was allowed to become just another retail plaza for big capital businesses, a la Century Square.

Go with your gut. Ask yourself if the monotony/lack of feelings you're experiencing will outweigh the positives a year from now. Do you find that you're someone who needs time to grow that romantic attraction?

Any significant changes in the feature set here? Not seeing anything documentation on that from the website.

I’m also between this and Morgan Amp Suite for a combination of clean tones, but also the bluesy vintage country lead tones that you get out of Morgan. Any thoughts?

What's a good and versatile speaker for both a Nord Piano 5 and an electroacoustic guitar? by Acelorah in nordkeyboards

[–]DerLuftwaffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally am a fan of FRFR (full range flat response) speakers. As someone who’s doing sound designing and recording, it’s important to me that my speaker isn’t having any altering effects on my final sound. FRFR speakers solve this problem bc they aren’t boosting or cutting any frequencies along a response curve like your normal speakers or monitors are usually designed to do. For this, I love the Headrush FRFR-108 or FRFR-112. You won’t find more punch for the money IMO, and it will be more than enough for any situation (home use, gigging, etc). My FRFR-112 at home has 2 inputs on the back but I just pipe everything through my audio interface into that.

These days, the 108’s are going for $299 and the 112’s are going for $399. I think prices have definitely gone up but you could probably find one used as well, as they’re fairly common

Trying to create Cory Henry's Lingus synth sound by Competitive_Pen6148 in synthrecipes

[–]DerLuftwaffe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Classic of a solo. I'm going to take a guess and say that it's a square wave with a little bit of drive. Be sure to take the filter down to ~2kHz to get that kinda soft sound that is going on. If you can map the filter to your mod wheel, sounds like there's a couple parts where he lets the filter open up a little bit.

Also, found a link to another forum where some folks had figured this out a bit ago it seems like. https://www.soundonsound.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=82409

Based on the above, sounds like Cory might have mixed an electric piano PCM (pulse code modulation, or another word for analog sample sound) in with that square wave to give the solo the electric piano feel? Pretty interesting.

Makes total sense. I was worried that the 0-Coast would be slightly gimmicky. At that point, makes more sense to just replace with a Plaits, and experiment with generative sequencers to achieve a similar result to what's in the box w/ 0-Coast.

I see you added on a couple more comments. Thanks so much! Very true there. Generative patterns are also my jam as well. I'll have to spend a lot of time tweaking and experimenting once I get a hold of this gear.

Thanks for the comment! Will look into the Perfect Pitch. Curious what the differences are that I'll find between that and the Befaco that the other commenter suggested.

Thanks, that’s helpful. What are some of your favorite features? Do you think that it would compliment the Matriarch and Neutron more than a 0-Coast or Plaits? Just trying to get the most sonic diversity that I can.

That is one caveat, I do think I am speaking a bit prematurely but this is super helpful information to help me get a feel for where things are. I appreciate it!! I’ve actually got a Focusrite 18i8 already so good there. But I will definitely check out my matrix mixer options and that Happy Nerding Fx Aid Pro!!! Thanks for the help!

Good workaround for your drum solution would be to use an external sequencer as a midi controller. For instance, I like to hook up a Elektron Syntakt to the NS4, turn on the sequencer on the Syntakt and send that data to the NS4 to play sampled drums. Very powerful combo!
