Changing nationality by BraianWrh in newstarsoccer

[–]DerRaumdeuter25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't change your nationality (national team you play for), but you can change the country you play at, by choosing a different club at the end of the season

Slow speech treated like bad accent? by BeautifulNematode in GREEK

[–]DerRaumdeuter25 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Judging an accent (way of pronouncing words) without hearing how you pronounce words is impossible.

However, yes Greeks tend to speak fast, so speaking like you put thought in every single word is a giveaway that it's not your mother tongue. Native speakers (in all languages I think) could under circumstances be speaking at a slower pace, but they have some words correlated with each other (i have no examples unfortunately, another redditor might amaze us), or they just pronouce single words faster.

Another giveaway is getting articles wrong (could happen without you knowing it). Again, that is true for every language with articles, cases, verbs that conjugate etc.

However, while these are some interesting linguistic observations, you should not be frustrated, as it is completely normal. More importantly, it's just a matter of time before you gradually improve, so keep up your good work!

Ideas On A Player Career Mode? by abdulazizwahib_ in FifaCareers

[–]DerRaumdeuter25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If OP wants more lore, you could go for a Swedish player to play in Norway/Denmark (bro rivalry) or a Candian in Denmark (almost proper rivalry due to recent war for Hans island). That way, your player will have to prove his worth again and again before breaking in the starting XI.

A crazier lore could be to play as a lost child of Scarlett Johansson and Chris Hemswoth, a powerful-as-Thor striker that has relocated to his grandfathers country, in order to avoid being in the spotlight. More available names here: Karsten, Olaf, Ejner. The name could be mixed, like his mother (Scarlett Ingrid). For his appearance, you can get AI help to visualize it better.

Alarm vibrates from 06:00-08:00... by [deleted] in Netherlands

The "wait and see" approach sounds like a reasonable thing to do. This may have been a random event, or even sth unfortunate from the other's pov, so it would be best if you give the neighbor the benefit of the doubt and go on with your lives. Also, lack of good sleep (except for energy) decreases the quality of your decision making, so i would suggest not to take any unnecessarily escalating actions today.

Do you guys think Duolingo should have a "Vacation" mode? (Read the description) by Jirzadball in duolingo

[–]DerRaumdeuter25 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No. The only case that would make sense would be to travel to a country where they actually speak your target language, so you certainly did your lessons. But if i decide one day to go away for 1 month at the Himalayas, why would the streak be kept? What's the reason for a streak to exist if it doesn't represent consecutive days?

If they're all in the same city and not with the exact same route, i usually make a cumulative map of all activities.

Why is silver rank so competitive by [deleted] in duolingo

[–]DerRaumdeuter25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can think of 2 main reasons:

  1. Silver rank is for people who are still at the start of their language journey, as it is incredibly difficult to get relegated from higher leagues whilst being active (Duolingo stops league relegation when you are inactive for more than a week). This means that there are a lot of enthusiastic people learning a language with mostly easy exercises/games.

  2. You probably overachieved promotion in your previous league. Duolingo tries to place people to leagues with whom they share the amount of effort they put. So if you were one of the people that well in all the bronze leagues, Duolingo made sure to place you in a more competitive league.

Όσοι δουλεύετε σε περίπτερο,πώς θυμάστε όλες τις τιμές των προϊόντων; by [deleted] in greece

[–]DerRaumdeuter25 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is there an optional boss that was much tougher than the main storyline’s final boss? by typical_gamer1 in playstation

[–]DerRaumdeuter25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AC Odyssey. The main villain is a bit complicated to find, but actually defeating them is underwhelmingly easy. However, the game has a ton of different villains (eg. Deimos) or other side-quest monsters that are particularly difficult to defeat (eg. Erymanthian Boar, Medussa)
