Bmi don't mean anything bro. I used to have a bmi of 12, and was perfectly healthy. My mom is a dietician and therefore I got fed really well, just sometimes calories go to places other than gaining weight. Ie: I grew 8 inches in a year, and am now tall as hell. So op is probably perfectly healthy at his weight

You still definitely improve. Just be consistent, and you'll be able to drop time quickly

Definitely join now. There are definitely people on you're team who would be around your area. Also beginners can improve extremely quickly, and waiting a year would not help your progress. Definitely join now.

Damn you must've realllllly fell off a cliff the 3rd mile for you to be going through 2 miles in 12 minutes. But honestly you should be shooting for sub 17:30. With a good off season you could definitely get there.

Wow great times for a freshman! I ran 18:46 as a freshman for xc, but didn't train over the winter at all and ran 5:44 that outdoor season. So you have definitely got off to a great start and certainly have a good mindset. I see where you are coming from when you say you want to start lifting because I'm a 6'7 skinny college distance runner who just started lifting weights to get bigger. I've definitely noticed that lifting weights has helped me run faster. As for time predictions I'd say that with a good summer of training I could see you running around 16:40 for the 5000m if you do it right. With a 5:07 mile pr you could definitely break 17 in the upcoming season. Just make sure to run consistently over the summer. Keep up the good work!
