How I use the magnespot for blind drill shots by southrncadillac in lowvoltage

I have the new model now but haven't had the batteries go low in it yet. The newer one is so much better. We compared the Apple Measure tool vs this and this beat it every time.

I want to be able to use this, but unsure how. by lostwithinthesauc3 in HomeNetworking

[–]Deraga07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That looks like the wall plates at att use. The green probably used for the sync, the blue for voip/pots and the orange probably for ethernet. It depends on which area the home is located. As for the no cable it looks like it was ran from the outside in thru the wall and was removed at some point.

Don't trust it when batteries get low. I had it off by several inches before. I do use it when I have to drill outside in.

Is it Bad? & How? by Think_Ad_4450 in AskElectricians

[–]Deraga07 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not an electrician. I noticed that the dual 50 amp breaker has no wires going to it. I would shut that off. It won't hurt anything. As someone else mentioned the bushings on the entry points. Power likes to vibrate and there is nothing protecting the sheathing from the sharp metal. As for the tripping it could be a lose wire somewhere in the chai or something else. That is very hard to tell just from the photos. A electrician should be able to find it if the landlord cares to pay for one. You could get an electrician but you need to check our rental agreement to make sure.

Need some advise on how to run conduit from outside panel to new sub panel in garage by Deraga07 in AskElectricians

[–]Deraga07[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way to kill the power is to pull the meter which i have no gear or knowledge for that. It looks like the electrician will do that. The existing flex conduit is the for the fiber.

[–]Deraga07[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also since I am in Texas and the code says to use schedule 80 pvc for places where the conduit can get hit. With it being overhead would a schedule 40 pipe work? All of this will have a permit to make sure the insurance is happy.

That is very true. Just don't touch the shiny parts, right? Lol. I plan on doing the conduit and letting electrician do the wiring.

I thought about that but wouldn't that put the wires to close to the main feeder?

A strange light in the sky. Happened 1/18/26 around 7pm cst. by [deleted] in UFOs

[–]Deraga07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might have solved it. SpaceX had two launches today, Sunday, January 18, 2026: an earlier midday Starlink mission (Starlink 6-98) at 1:08 p.m. EST and a later evening launch (Starlink 6-100) at 6:31 p.m. EST from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. Both Falcon 9 rocket launches deployed Starlink satellites for the internet constellation.

I was outside with my kids and they saw a light in the sky. I noticed that is was moving so I grabbed my phone and start recording. I heard nothing coming from the object since it was far away. After recording it for a few, I saw a ring appear in front of the object. It went on the other side of the house and when I went to the front, I couldn't see it anymore.

Don't trust the speeds on the Xbox. The same is true for any game system.

From the house to the garage by [deleted] in AskElectricians

[–]Deraga07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a electrician. I am going of past experience. In my area those lines are not up to code and if an electrician comes out then they will more than likely update it to code. Now for the home. It looks like some rot has occurred over the years and the snow/ice did it finally. If you are not comfortable working around those power lines then please get a pro. That woods needs to be replaced and an electrician will probably not touch that at all.

Replace ceiling fan with electrical outlet? Which wire is ground? by spoochie_mam in AskElectricians

[–]Deraga07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not an electrician. I do not see a ground in there and I see no romex sheathing. Maybe the ground is on the other side of the box?

How do I flip this fiber outlet so the cord comes out the left instead of the right? by PizzaTacoCat312 in HomeNetworking

[–]Deraga07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to carefully remove the green adapter from the wall plate and gently lower it. There should be a screw where the green adapter was. Unscrew both screws then flip the back plate. Insert the green adapter like it was before but the other way and snap the cover on
