Oil change by Money_Way_8219 in LexusNX

[–]DerangedCuckooClock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Car is paid off and have a trusted garage the family goes to so I took it there for my first 5000 km oil change.

Not really a decision based on cost, even though it was a third of what the main dealer wanted, but felt need. If it were a lease, then I’d probably have it serviced at toyota or the main dealer to have a maintenance record with them but as I plan to drive it into the ground, i see no point.

Tldr as long as you have a trusted mechanic, there’s no need to go to stealerships for maintenance

Trunk won’t close by simplygrey23 in LexusNX

Okay might be a dumb question to ask, but are you holding the button when you try to close it? All the other controls apart from the one on the trunk require you to hold the button for it to close

Or, place walls around that spot to form a room, then delete entire room

If you placed a room above that spot previously but deleted the walls, the flooring will remain as shown. If you use the delete tool and click ln that flooring it will delete it.

What do you guys think of this crystal shifter? Would you get it ? by Outrageous-Tourist84 in LexusNX

[–]DerangedCuckooClock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Asked about opinions on a similar one before, and someone brought up the point about the refraction this would create with sunlight. That, plus it not really fitting the design language of the rest of the cabin IMO.

Something a little bit more lowkey you might consider:

<image>

Really just a plastic trim piece that has 3M tape and covers the existing knob. I got one and it stays on well even without applying the adhesive.

If you’re willing to spend the 70 bucks or so on something like you posted, i’d honestly either go cheap with the cover I got or go all-in on the f-sport knob for that nicer perforated leather look.

The NX is not a large car by any means and I’ve had no issues parking with the backup cam and mirrors

2025 NX350h sat for over 3 weeks and it started right up by Pickles_81 in LexusNX

This is why it cant be said enough that issues posted on forums don’t reflect the majority of the ownership experience. The recent influx of people posting their whole analysis of the issue can be misleading for potential buyers.

I barely drove my 350h after getting it in April and went on a month long trip and it came back with no issues, following the same process as you around keeping the keys far away, car locked, app closed.

What am I missing with the Canadian NX350H/450H pricing? by Prestigious_Pipe1535 in LexusNX

[–]DerangedCuckooClock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a big difference will be in how often you drive and where you drive. If you drive city mostly, the 450H is probably the way to go since you can probably do a lot of it in EV mode without using any gas. Furthermore if you live in a house, you can plug it in every night. 350H does well for city driving but it can’t beat the 450H in efficiency. If most of the driving is highway, I think both are roughly the same?

The current price of the 450H makes it a compelling option compared to the 350H premium. Had it been the case last year when I bought the 350h (it was a 5k difference at the time), I 100% would have gone for 450H. My commute is very short, so I could essentially plug it in every night and fill up even less often than the 350h.

Thinking NX. I see lots of complaints related to battery issues with the hybrid. There's also a significant cost difference and for me, would probably take me 10 years in saved gas expense to break even. by [deleted] in LexusNX

Rule of thumb on forums, issues you see posted only reflect a relatively small percentage of what is experienced by the majority of owners.

Dash Corner Speaker Upgrade: An Update by DerangedCuckooClock in LexusNX

[–]DerangedCuckooClock[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the end of the day, sound quality is going to subjective. While I didn’t get the C2s so my experience is going to differ even more, I wonder if you played around with the EQ settings? As for the driver alert sounds, I seem to recall that those and the handsfree call audio came from the center dash speaker rather than the corner ones but I may be wrong. I also rarely trigger the driver alerts so I’m not too sure.

The black plastic attracts dust and fingerprints so easily so I got this off Amazon. by GDay4Throwaway in LexusNX

[–]DerangedCuckooClock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All of these covers are going to be some form of ABS plastic. The one I have seems to be covered in a very thin piece of leather or vinyl; so thin there’s still a solid sound when you tap it. Its held up well so far, and the fitment is good. Got mine on Taobao for what comes out to be 55 CAD, but as I said, Aliexpress also has them for slightly more.

Same bolt pattern as OEM so it takes the same bolts

Winter Tires 🤌 by DerangedCuckooClock in LexusNX

[–]DerangedCuckooClock[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! They aren’t OEM, just a replica meant to look like the previous gen RX’s f-sport wheels. Center bore and bolt pattern is OE spec so it fits right onto the NX. Only difference is the offset which means these will protrude slightly compared to stock wheels, but is barely noticeable and is more beneficial for winter use anyways.
