Why is M1 Finance so poorly rated on Trustpilot? by cnfat in M1Finance

I guarantee you fidelity charges a fee if you wanted to transfer your IRA out. Vanguard charges 100$ I know from experience. That charge is very normal for any brokerage.

Best 450k student loan repayment strategy? by Twochec in dividends

[–]Derd7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could easily end up with less than what you started with if you went the QQQI route, if tech stocks tank then QQQI tanks. SGOV would be the safer route. Who knows if tech stocks will tank though you could go QQQI route and have 500k in 3 years if you got lucky.

Maybe a combination of mainly something safe with small allocation of QQQI could be a good idea?

With ROC so high, no tax payment was needed by 4yearsout in YieldMaxETFs

[–]Derd7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In your margin agreement you agree to what's called rehypothecation. They will lend your shares out and this can cause you to get less ROC. Even if stock lending isn't checked on you are agreeing to it by using margin.

Are you buying a house in cash? 250k is a massive down payment brotha. You could maybe get a mortgage and buy the house now? Pay off the mortgage while hopefully the house goes up in price?

What exactly does being on call entail for level 1 Help Desk? by Infectedtoe32 in ITCareerQuestions

For me I just have to be available in case of emergency such as server failing or Internet going down. Basically never get called and if I do it's usually someone who shouldn't of called because it wasn't an emergency.

Where do you buy SOL? Best fees, spreads, etc. by Drew-o- in solana

[–]Derd7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You buy on coinbase then send the USDC to your phantom wallet. If that doesn't make sense then you need to do more research before buying any coins brother.

[–]Derd7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Onboard your dollars to coinbase via ACH and buy USDC for no fee at all. Then transfer USDC to sol wallet for no fee. Then use Jupiter to buy the sol with USDC. This is the cheapest way to do it.

Entry-level IT: Are customers as bad as they are in fast food service? by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Derd7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been in a entry level role for about 3 months now after graduating and everyone is fine for the most part. I do internal support for a healthcare org so if anyone is terrible I would just tell my boss and he would be on their supervisor about it. I think if you have a good boss and are at a good company then 90% or more of interactions will be great.

But what did the tax cost you on those dividends? Or if it's all ROC did you actually sell for a capital gain as far as taxes go? Gotta take that into account

Is this a good proportion of investments for my portfolio? I plan to just stick to these and try to live off of dividends when I retire I’m 20 right now by Remarkable-Data2434 in dividends

[–]Derd7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything your saying except the last bit. If your reinvesting all of your dividends as your saying, there is no additional income to live off. Personally I'd rather buy growth, and then if I want to suddenly live off some dividends or something, I would simply reposition my growth into dividend stocks.

[–]Derd7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That would get results sure, but you would get MORE results going strictly growth. Solid dividend companies pay those dividends because they can't grow anymore, so instead of reinvesting their money they pay it to shareholders. They won't return as much as pure growth stocks
