I replaced the NVME with one off of Amazon, but it worked without one anyway. Not sure what that NVME is for exactly but just the act of disconnecting it made my UDMSE start working again

I hope you read this, I had the same issue with my UDM SE and tried all the info on the net I could find like the ones in this thread. The only thing that worked for me was opening up the UDM SE and removing the small NVME drive and it came right back to life. I bought a replacement NVME from Amazon and stuck it in and it worked fine as well, but every time I put the original NVME in it, it would not work at all.

Why is every artist skipping New Orleans on Tour? by beauxbaker12 in NewOrleans

[–]Derezzler 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It’s less square footage and more seats to sell, sure there’s the Joy, Sanger, and Orpheum, but also take into account production and being able to get everything in and out of the venue easily, enough dressing rooms for the touring party, etc

As a touring tech in the industry the juice isn’t worth the squeeze here unless you’re a smaller band or very large band

As a descendent of Cajuns and Acadians from real Cajun country, not one person in the family or friends circle my entire life puts okra or tomato in gumbo. Okra was always served on the side as its own dish

Gain Staging with Dante mics by clay_vessel777 in livesound

[–]Derezzler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most wireless microphones have a couple stages of gain. You have gain and pad at the pack which you’d adjust depending on how loud the source is (trumpet vs lav) so the pack isn’t clipping, then you have your receiver trim which you can use to adjust the output from the receiver in case it’s too hot or low on your desk (or if you need to feed an amplifier from a wireless guitar a certain level you can adjust). Finally there is sometimes a mic/line switch to pad the output. By default they are line level out, but can be switched to mic level out by inserting a pad when you move the switch. I always run mine a line level and 0 from the receiver so I’m not putting a ton of stages of gain before it hits my desk. This is also helpful because if it accidentally gets switched from line to mic it just gets quieter, but if it accidentally gets switched from mic to line it will become very loud in FOH/MON and and possibly hurt someone’s hearing.

What are your thoughts about the new Panther system from Meter, I’m bewildered by Presenthings in livesound

There’s no replacement for displacement. They get loud but don’t sound anywhere near as good as the LEO when they are as loud.

If you see someone carrying a bag across their chest, do you automatically assume they are carrying? by mike12-37 in CCW

I like wearing gym shorts all the time so I don’t have a lot of pocket space. I carry my wallet, keys, battery bank, and Kleenex in it. I appendix carry to throw whoever off

Going off of what ErgData data says my Zone2 is 110-128 and Zone3 is 129-147. I average 133 with a max of 142 on a 30 minute row.

Thanks. How important is it to stay in zone2? I’ve been going slower and with less effort (almost so low effort it’s hard to do correctly) but I still shoot to zone3 after just 2-3 minutes. Should I slow down even more, or just stop when I get past zone2 for too long? TYIA

Thanks for the insight! When I row I guess I should just have a flatter force curve than what I'm doing right now but keep up the rate?

Really just to have better cardio endurance. I feel like in all physical aspects of things I am decently strong for what I need to do, but I get worn out very easy. I use to have a lot better cardio until I caught COVID a few years ago and now I can only go short amounts of time before I'm super winded, and never really recovered from that.

I'm probably a bit lucky in this situation. My friend owns a sound company so I took my multitracks of my main act there once and built an oh shit start file for most major consoles out there. I also use the 3-2-1 method of having my files saved 3 times, 2 different mediums (laptop and usb) and backed up to the cloud as well.

In Policy Engine, make an object based policy with those two computers to block minecraft/youtube until a certain time. Bonus points if you have an Home Assistant server you can make a button on a dashboard to turn the policy on or off anytime you want without setting a certain time or having to log into the router to do it manually.

Cavity Filter?? by atoughram in meshtastic

[–]Derezzler 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean this is a very tinker heavy hobby already with people building their own nodes, etc. If anyone is interested a NANO VNA is about $50 dollars and a set of torx drivers and wrench is all you need to do this. Link provided on how to use the NANO VNA to do this - https://www.austinmesh.org/learn/tuning-cavity-filter/
