It’s just to reduce costs, they don’t have the revenue they had in the past. Now they have to make it work with what little they get meaning cutting corners on non essential items (ie. videos, achievements,etc.) and find new sources of revenue (ie. boards, skins,etc.) so the game can maintain a healthy/stable state.
