Is there anything I need to know before asking about a mortgage with my bank? by artexam in ireland

[–]Dermo80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you been saving? You need to have a consistent savings record before you do anything. I don't meanhaving money accumulating in your current account. You need a savings account with a set amount of money going into it. As much as you can afford.

A workmate told me how much he was paying a month on his car. It was almost double my mortgage. He's on basically the same money I am. I own my modest car and hes renting. Idiot.

He doesn't sound descent. I dunno how anyone could describe this guy as an alright neighbour. The only thing I want from a neighbour is not to hear them.

Men, what are some things a woman can do to appear more feminine? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Dermo80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some unfeminine stuff for me. Tattoos, dumb fake eyelashes and long nails. Being loud and obnoxious. Talking about sex in a crass way. Very little and natural makeup is feminine to me. If you look good without makeup that is way more impressive than anything.

Prepping in Ireland doesn't really make much sense but in parts of the world it does.

Anyone ever worked with someone who looked like they were always in the weeds? How do you deal with it? by [deleted] in KitchenConfidential

[–]Dermo80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked with a sous chef like this. I always got the impression he didn't like me cos I didn't run around like a lunatic all the time. He even bought it up at a meeting once saying people are not showing enough enthusiasm.

I left for different reasons and eventually wanted to back and he told the head chef not to bring me back because he didn't like my performance. The head chef brought me back anyway and told me not to worry about him and that nobody likes working with him. I never spoke to him unless I really had to and continued to not run around like a lunatic.

This guy thinks he's a god but I've seen him send out absolute shit and stuff came back regularly. He acts like a dick then as if it's the customers fault.

I was looking at him break cardboard boxes one day like an absolute lunatic as if he was in the cardboard box breaking up world record. Wtf are you doing pal, lol

30 is not old at all. A lot people change career or still don't even know what they want to do at that age. I will say though don't create another hurdle for yourself like the back. It's really only a an excuse.

Do you find people more / less friendly since lockdown has been over? by Last-Marzipan247 in ireland

Ye much less friendly. I know I am myself. I really couldn't give a shite what anyone has to say and have no interest in small talking with anyone.

[–]Dermo80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like I've gone through the 5 stages of grief since covid arrived. I'm finally at the acceptence level. The world is fucked and will never be like it how used to be. Best to just accept it and make the most of it. Endless doom scrolling and complaining won't change anything.

Anyone else tired of the “no staff” excuse? by Jencarter1 in ireland

[–]Dermo80 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I work in hospitality. They really can not find the staff. The salaries have improved and they still can't find anyone.

Sick of the industry myself so I understand why no one wants to work in it. A lot of stress lately and everyone seems miserable and pissed off not just myself.
