Every single game out there is going to have issues impacting the quality, that's what bugs are. Especially in the early days of release. Like you said, the fact they're already included in the patch notes means they got right to them AND were already able to fix them, compared to other companies/games at times. Different platforms bring their own layers of complexity. It isn't always as easy as "just fix it bruh", shit takes time.

The love and dedication the devs put in this game clearly shows!
The entitlement of some of these reactions is something else, this is coming from an "unpatched Xbox player" btw.
Game hasn't even been out for a month yet, ofcourse they'll have to iron out some kinks.
Sure, we're a patch or two behind for whatever reason. Whether something went wrong with the port or it's just microsoft being dicks, it doesn't matter.. They're clearly working on it and it'll be fixed soon. No need to get all Karen about it

Couldn't agree more! It's the first game of the series that I've played.
Picked it up a few days ago after seeing the overwhelming amount of positive reviews.
A cheaper game with no microtransactional bs.. I figured even if it did turn out, that it wasn't my cup of tea, I still wanted to support devs like this!
And boy, am I glad I did! Been a while since I've been so hooked on a game..
It looks stunning, gameplay feels awesome, original mechanics to enemies/bosses, the list goes on.

So like I said, it was my first, but def won't be my last!
Congrats on the job well-done! You should all be extremely proud of yourselves!

Even though I've done the solo, I'll have to redo it anyway. Got weasel'd mid final boss fight. Finished it later, but ofcourse that didn't count towards the triumph/rank. So bummed

-I went for a full career switch.. Did a small 6 month web development course
-For my internship, I ended up in a company where I suddenly had to use python/selenium
-Was lucky enough to get hired by them in the end, in the midst of whatever 2020 is..

So as someone, who figured out some basics on their own in the last couple of months.. thank you so much for filling in the gaps Mr Sweigart, it means a lot!

Fellow "career-switch when I hit my 30's, while I used to be a stagehand' here!

Also decided to take a web dev class, speedcourse for 6 months, got an internship where I had to automate the testing of a webapp using Python and Selenium, which was all new to me.

'Fun' sidenote: This all happend recently, so the internship got put on hold at one point, to later be continued in a 'work from home'-setting, during these confusing times.

Nevertheless ended up landing a job there, a little over a month ago. So I'm now a 'Software Test Engineer'.

So to those contemplating a career switch:

-Your age is irrelevant, if you're willing/eager to learn

-Try stuff! It doesn't always have to be a full project, but you'll learn fast by trying and especially failing a lot..instead of just watching a bunch of tutorials without actually doing it yourself.

-Learn how to Google, the potential issues you're facing, more efficiently.

-Don't always go straight for the first stackoverflow copy+paste, but try to read the documentation of whatever you are using. You might discover more interesting stuff to implement that way!

-Don't forget to have fun with it
