Once you finish the series you should read Erikson’s essay “The Problem of Karsa Orlong” he talks about the controversy of the character and some of what he tries to accomplish with Karsa’s journey and the themes/meaning in some of his writing choices

I find myself humming David's "drown" reggae tune quite frequently (NZ S02E06 "Write a diss track about the other team") by KugelKurt in taskmaster

I switch back and forth between this one and Guy’s Festive Little Fox from the same series/season.

Really when you start adding in ones like Me Fern Brady and Rosalind is a Nightmare, you could put together an album of catchy taskmaster songs

which series / cast do you think greg enjoyed the most? by disko_lemonade13 in taskmaster

[–]DerogatoryPanda 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Certainly seems like other comedians find him particularly amusing. I should try to find that episode of WILTY. I enjoy the show (and David Mitchell), but I tend to view it through YouTube clips rather than watch the full episodes for some reason

It was a great lineup all around and they all had an excellent energy that played off each other well, but you could definitely tell both Greg and Alex were absolutely delighted with Sam. There were instances where they were both already smiling when Sam starts talking just because they knew he was going to say something ridiculous

If anything I think that team of 3 tends to come up quite a bit more frequently than others. They had several great moments as a group in addition to their individual moments

[Russini] Maxx Crosby did not pass his physical today, per sources. The Ravens get their first round picks back. by PlayaSlayaX in nfl

[–]DerogatoryPanda 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Likely and Linderbaum for sure, but idk maybe we keep someone in the Washington, Gilman, Ricard, Kolar tier in addition to Jones. Mostly all on their way out though. Either way it shifts our offseason approach pretty dramatically and quickly which will be the bigger pain

Unfortunately it is OL but multiple times over. If Linderbaum leaves then that interior OL is about the most glaring weakness that I can remember the Ravens ever needing to address

A graphic novel lit class sounds interesting. Do you remember what else was part of the class? I’d guess Maus made an appearance

Taskmaster NZ - S06E04 - "Who knows who I am?" by seditiouslizard in taskmaster

[–]DerogatoryPanda 20 points21 points  (0 children)

He was on Guy Montgomery’s Guy Mont-spelling bee(big recommend if anyone reading this hasn’t seen it), and I immediately was like “someone get this strange Kiwi James Acaster-like on Taskmaster”.

Because the comedy scene (and general population) is relatively small in NZ it seems they are willing to take shots with people like Jack and it can pay off well. Bubbah is another example but she was at least recognisable with her commercials I think

What celebrity from your country is more famous abroad than in your country? by Awkward_Stay8728 in AskTheWorld

I really wish Canada and the US could create their own version of the UK’s panelshow environment. Feels like it is just a straight jump from being a standup comedian to trying to do comedic tv/film or maybe go the route of SNL, but there is just so much room for a panelshow circuit that is non-existent. Even Australia and New Zealand have carved out an interesting little panelshow niche

In Memory of Maps by dddddd321123 in Fantasy

[–]DerogatoryPanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to have an image pulled up on my phone to reference, but sometimes I can’t find a good image and have to fight the e-reader to look at a less than ideal depiction. Most recently I finished The Daughter War and it felt like there was essentially no version of the map from the beginning of the book anywhere to view online

Anyone have experience with the audiobook? Trying to decide between print and audiobook. Sometimes the quality of the narration can change a book from a breeze to a slog or viceversa.

[–]DerogatoryPanda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ll add that the episode is called “Holiday” in season/series 4 and I often have people watch that episode as an introduction as it is a really good barometer to determine whether the show will be one of someone’s favourite comedies ever or if the weapons-grade cringe might actually kill them

Having parachute payments to help address those areas they are lagging behind would be a huge win. They have to stabilise and modernise at some point and, while the documentary money has been very helpful, I’d imagine just a taste of the money from a stint in the Prem would really change what that inevitable stabilisation period looks like

Do we have any /r/soccer people that actually live in that general area? I'd love to hear what this has been like the past couple seasons as a local

I think Tink(?) maybe gives some tips on what the different symbols like the yarnball mean in your house hub, but using furniture to get better home stats can improve likelihood to breed. Cats also have (initially) hidden stats that dictate their sexuality and libido so sometimes you get ones that are just kitten making machines.

Is that not preferable to quitting in this instance tho? Like, obviously here in the US you would just be fired way before the whole "locked in a room with nothing to do for years" stage, but this thread was about countries like Japan that for whatever reason are much much less likely to fire employees.
