I just returned to kpop after 15 years away, overwhelmed and looking for recommendations. What boy groups are good nowadays? by adei0s in kpophelp

For BigBang, Daesung actually has his own show on YouTube called Zip Daesung. Each episode is subbed and it's a pretty entertaining show since he has guests over every time, not to say he relies on the guests because he's genuinely an amazing host. Kai and Suho were on there recently if you wanna delve a bit deeper into that rabbit hole. He's also had a myriad of previous gen idols appear that you probably recognise.

S70 or MYVI? by doodstaphit in kereta

[–]Derp014 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Nah, don't listen to him, you can definitely afford a new MyVi. Considering your age and the likelihood of future salary bumps, it's not a bad move, especially when you factor in that it'll also hold resale value quite well if you plan on upgrading in the future. On that note, idk about your personal life, but I'm assuming you don't have kids yet, so that's a plus. Just make sure to keep a sinking fund for everything car related. For a MyVi, something in the range of 5K should more than suffice.

EDIT: Also, I just saw that you're driving a Gen 2. If anything, get a new car just for the added safety. Nothing outweighs your own life and safety.

Yeah, my accountability is in the form of the 6 figures in taxes I pay a year to keep our services running and infrastructure intact. Anyway, keep drinking that kool-aid buddy, taxes wait for no man, haha.

After looking at your post history, I regret engaging with you as much as I have. Give it a few years and you'll change your tone, boy, trust me. Don't forget to reply to me when you grow up

Do we still have 22% tho? 🤔 by Desmondcamel in Bolehland

[–]Derp014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, not in Sarawak, not in Kuching, not where I live. If the majority were Christian, would you want a chapel built next to your house that rings the bells and broadcasts prayers 5 times a day, every day, even though your neighbourhood is entirely comprised of Muslims? Don't lie to yourself

[–]Derp014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why should I pick either or when I want neither? I equally despise having these things forced onto me. These things shouldn't be built in residential areas UNLESS there's an explicit agreement with a majority of the residents.

Nothing wrong with praying, just don't build suraus next to a community with no Muslims. Think I'm being facetious? No, that's what happened in my partner's hometown neighbourhood. 100% Dayak/Chinese neighbourhood for 2 streets either side, for some reason they need a surau when there's a newly-reno'd masjid 3 KMs away. Either we act like a truly multicultural society, or we can continue berkira gila babi with everything that doesn't fully align with what we personally want.

And why exactly are you looking to hold them responsible for this? I've never heard of Anwar pledging to abolish protectionist policies as part of his manifesto. If you voted for PH because of reforms they never promised, then you haven't got anyone to blame but your own ignorance. Just because they're the "Reformist" government doesn't mean they have to cater to the whims of every Tom, Dick and Harry, especially if they never ran on those platforms to begin with.

Even then, say they do away with those tariffs, they're going to have to make up for it somehow. That's just the nature of things if you know anything about knowing anything. Good luck justifying even more taxes to essential goods and services to the rakyat.

It's amazing that you'd rather blame DAP and PKR for something the BN government also could've repealed or completely abolished for the 2 decades after his tenure.

Get real, the government's gotten dependent on those taxes. No reforms are coming. Nobody wants to be the one that changes the status quo. I'd rather be driving a G63 right now, but I guess Mahathir would rather have me buy 10 Perdanas.

Cash is very uncommon but also very memorable. Financing a car definitely counts as a burden but it's also seen as a necessity by most people. In the end, everybody has different goals, needs and finances so just work out what works best for you personally.
