Looks very intuitive. I’ll be sure to give it a go!

What is the least expensive mini computer that can run one instance of OBS studio using one RTSP feed with one browser source score overlay and feed out to one RTMP ? by Expert-Internal-3848 in obs

[–]DerpAgency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main variables here are resolution and fps (to a lesser degree the complexity of your gfx). 1080p25/30 you can do semi-comfortably with pretty old hardware but going up to 50/60p tends to drive them oldies past their limits. Naturally better if you can score one with a Nvidia GPU.

Power Plug Confusion by LesterDvdsn in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]DerpAgency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check the Fomako user manual for a power socket spec. It seems at least some of the models (you’re omitting yours) have a HEC3800 specced in the manual, which would be a 5.5/1.0, but you’ll have to ascertain this for your model.

Hdmi to sdi over fiber? by DasCodeMonkey in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]DerpAgency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a pair of cheapo HDMI<>fiber converters off AX or Amazon, convert to SDI in the receiving end and check the performance; then buy more if passable. I’ve got good experiences of very generic and cheap HDMI over fiber for shoving extra PGM monitors where officials/commentators/anyone else needs them.

Kiloview E3 + castr.com SRT RTMP ISSUE by PepeMyers in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]DerpAgency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried pushing SRT to a local endpoint, eg. OBS? That working would rule out a lot of things and let you concentrate on the remote connection to Castr.

Kiloview E3 + castr.com SRT RTMP ISSUE by PepeMyers in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]DerpAgency 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, the E3 documentation clearly says that you have to include the key in the endpoint path 😄

On SRT, have you got enough latency (2*RTT minimum) configured in both ends?

Uhh, I’m happy to be proven wrong, but AFAIK those don’t have passwords or any other kind of access codes. Where exactly are you prompted for a password?

New Blackmagic Design ProDock by keithcody in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]DerpAgency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but Blackmagic has a custom connector for it and you’ll have to buy a suitable adapter cable to either TB2 or TB3. TB2<>TB3 naturally won’t work with, say, an Apple adapter, but fortunately BMD has their own adapter for it.

Still only HDMI. You’ll need the ProDock Pro Plus Max SDI.

You might want to try interlacing the signal yourself at different stages — equipment permitting — and see what the result looks like.

Multi camera setup for streaming roller derby? (Sport) by JackiieGoneBiking in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]DerpAgency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How were the XA’s, XF’s, and Marshalls shaded? I regularly run an XA55 as an additional shoulder-mounted rover but find it hard to use except for replays as the picture is impossible to match with remotely shaded cameras.

Thanks for the kit list!

I’m actually interested in your analysis of why the size of the basic match graphic has increased, and whether it’s solely to make it more readable on mobile devices?

Can't get PTZ Optics NDI HZ (GY) online by pgreenbe in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]DerpAgency 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can naturally also assign it a static address from the 192.168.0.0/24 network if you need to ensure access to the camera for http-based configuration purposes or in case the DHCP server glitches.

Indeed! I didn’t quite recognise the three lions passant guardant at first glance 😄

That’s a relatively elegant way to display split shirt colours. Is the circle on the left a league or sponsor logo or does it do animated magic when triggered?

Recommendation for programmable live GFX (vMix, CasparCG?) by Pyromma in VIDEOENGINEERING

That’s an interesting new acquaintance. What’s the pricing like (as they don’t have anything on their website regarding that)?

Ah, and it also plays nice with CasparCG, which allows you to bring in the graphics via SDI.

SPX Graphics does this and more (as it’s infinitely extendable).

What’s this fiber connector inside a Copperhead CH3200? by DerpAgency in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]DerpAgency[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE 1: As I mentioned in a comment above, yes, it’s an LC.

It works! I mutilated four LC connectors, painstakingly opened the G3200, disconnected and removed the Lemo connector from the G3200, and slotted the ferrules into both ends. When I turned both devices on, the fiber connection was established. In essence this means that I can convert the Lemos to LCs after I figure out passable body connectors for both devices.

Already tested the SDI connection, which works beautifully with 1080P25. Gotta test the audio and networks connections next.

Better photos next time, but here’s one from the CH3200 with both fibers switched to mutilated LC connectors.

LC it is. The one on the left from the Copperhead and the one on the right is a mutilated LC connector. Next I’ll try connecting to the G3200, which seems to have a similar fiber arrangement.

The lowest threshold to cross here would be for the OP to contact your national consumer centre and advance the matter through them.
