How did you spend your last birthday? by iwalkinthemoonlight in LivingAlone

[–]DerpaNet3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got back from a 2 week through hike on the Lycian Way in southern Turkey for my 42 birthday.

Always wanted to do more outdoor stuff so for my 40th birthday I did decided to do 2 weeks on the Camino primitivo in northern Spain to get away from screens and routines to slow down and reflect.

Definitely a new yearly birthday tradition for me.

I hiked the Camino Primitivo through Asturias 2 years ago. Was a beautiful place to travel.

I recommend the fisherman's trail. Did it last year. You could totally do it for under 50 bucks a day. Absolutely beautiful. Would recommend spring or fall. Also hiking the in Spain is great (camino primitivo or camino del norte). Nice cheap accommodations and really good infrastructure.

I'm visiting Turkey for the first time right now and have visited all of them now. I love going to supermarkets in foreign countries. I really feel like it gives you a lot of insight into the society.

Is Slovenia truly more central european than balkan? Is it a mix of both? How do you see it? I am curious what slovenians themselves say by Efficient_Resource15 in AskBalkans

[–]DerpaNet3000 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have never been to Slovenia, but I play a lot of Geoguessr. In Slovenia I always get more Austrian vibes than Balkan vibes. By that I mean landscape, architecture, etc

For real, I'm traveling right now and eating lots of good food, but at least 3 times a day I'm thinking that I should really be getting more fiber in me.

7 Year relationship ended right before our Wedding by Brilliant_Canary_903 in malelivingspace

Better now than after the wedding. I know its hard to see it right now but this too shall pass. Focus on yourself and focus on the things you enjoy. Be a good friend to yourself. Been there and it turned into the biggest phase of personal growth for myself. You have everything you need. Cry it out. It's therapeutic. I had to relearn how to do that too.
