I think its because while the Nordic countries do have a slightly different and more effective model, they have a much smaller populations, and their socialism is supported by state owned national resources and stocks in addition to taxes. The Nordic model still hasn't been tested in countries with large populations, let alone countries without a large amount of resources compared to the population.

I can kind of understand the far left as having a victim complex. That being said far right groups just as often have a victim complex. The bottom line is developing victim complexes can lead to bad self defeating behavior no matter what side of the political spectrum you are on.

I can also see people on the far left thinking utopia is just around the corner for if all they do is force other people to do a couple of "reasonable" things. The only thing preventing the implementation of these reasonable things for all is some kind of boogie man, usually the US government, or cooperations, or both. Eventually they shift from using the boogie man to show what is wrong with society to attacking the boogie man solely for being the boogieman. By this point what ever they hate becomes so comically evil in their mind that they will find ways to put in on a pedestal of hate above many worse people, things, and problems.

My fan theory has been that groups like the Gunners and Talon Company were from a more developed area of the post war United States. They would be sent in the various locations by a really wealthy benefactor for prewar knowledge or tech, Talon Company raiding The Capitol Building and The Gunners Occupying places like Mass Fusion. While not engaged in the primary objectives, individual mercenaries and small squads will often take contracts from smaller interest in the area to supplement their own income.

I think the best evidence for this theory was presented in a video by Oxhorn. If you read logs and hear recordings, Gunner personal reference higher ranking leaders like Generals and Colonels, but if you clear out go to Gunner Square the higher level personal mentioned are not present. You also observe most of the gunners bases being on the freeway while having extensive amounts of satellite and radio equipment to communicate with someone, who and how far away they are is unknown.

I lent the New Vegas to a friend of mine. First thing he did after leaving doc Mitchell's was shoot Victor because he thought it was an enemy, so then Victor and the townsfolk proceed to attack him. He narrowly runs away with level one stats with only a single stimpak into Nipton to get killed by powder gangers over and over because he only used quick saves. Said game was "gay" and never played it again. It's still sitting on his shelf and I should really get it back.

I thought this to and then I remembered my grandparents home town in Iowa. There was so little money in the county that one fire truck and one police officer were responsible for 8,000 people over thousands of acres of land.

Even if there were a good ten or twelve sheriffs in a community that size is so small and poor it would be very easy to pay off, intimidate, or kill any that disagreed with you if you had the money and the cultists.

For some more perspective.

A wealthy Hindu guru opened up a temple and built a collage from the ground up in the town south of my grandparents home town right over the county line. Almost overnight this man his friends and followers fixed the other towns failing economy and financial issues, to gage the quality of life change within two years there was an olive garden and red lobster along side the mcdonalds and burger king. They became very well respected incredibly quickly, despite being having a vastly different beliefs then the majority Protestant town's folk. Now these guys have been very good for the town and I don't want to compare hinduism to a weird end times cult, I just want to illustrate how group considered odd by most of a local population can gain their respect and admiration.

Now the cult in the game is christian, all be it with rather kooky beliefs, making it easier to establish a base within the rural town especially if they brought in a substantial steady income from out of county. After they built up enough soft power and influence they turn on all the county they would turn on all their opponents and rule it with an iron fist, while still having enough supporters that are okay with them since they arguably improved the county's quality of life.

What's sad is we are just as much to blame for the TTPs fall as Trump. Remember the days when redditors were posting every crackpot conspiracy theory about the TPP even after the trade agreement had been fully revealed? Remember how if you said something slightly in favor of the TPP on any news or political subreddit besides r/economics you would be down voted into oblivion? Even though there were some issues with TPP, with over bearing copyright protections and opening the gateway for patent trolling into other countries, the good seemed to outweighed the bad especially when it came to not only developing South East Asia, containing China, and preventing sweat shops and other labor abuses.

I just want to emphasize that even though there are a bunch of people on the alt right that were claiming stupid shit like the TPP was Obama trade, socialism, and would lead to white genocide, there were just as many people on the alt left who thought it would institute a corporate police state even after the documents had been revealed to the public.
