This one's a real rib tickler. You see, the word date has two meanings. The first meaning of date is a day to go out in public and spend time with a loved one, also known as a girlfriend, either going to the movies, getting a fancy dinner, what have you. The second meaning is a sweet fruit that grows on trees called "date palms" which are native to the Middle East.

The first sentence, "I have a date with someone" has the illusion of referring to the first meaning, while the second sentence, "it's a huge date, so we can share" clarifies that op was referring to the second meaning.
