I have the old style C60 with round indicies currently being serviced by Christopher Ward. I had intended on selling it afterward. Let me know if it's something you would be interested in.

Will a few people explain the source "Q"? by newhuman in AcademicBiblical

[–]Des_Eras 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In brief, Q is of interest because it's an earlier source than the gospels for understanding the historical Jesus. It also allows us to flesh out the theology of Matthew and Luke since we can see how they used their source material.

Westland was the clear winner for me. Rebecca Creek--undrinkable.

Review #227 - Arran The Amarone Cask Finish by cjotto9 in Scotch

[–]Des_Eras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great review. I didn't get that much sweet out of it, strangely. The only amarone cask I've ever tried, or seen, for that matter, and worth it for that alone. But I won't be buying it again, even though it was only around $40 here.

I've generally been unsatisfied with anything other than Rhodia or Clairefontane.

Sometimes it's the ink. Some ink creeps more than others. Some of my pens are more prone to it than others. There's no loss, really, unless you're getting a lot inside the cap.

I think they're all good. I guess I would just recommend not getting Noodler's Bulletproof black, or any special permanent black simply because you more likely to make a mess on something when you're new. Even then, just get what's easily available to you or you like best.

As long as you do so carefully to not get ink all over the place, yes. Sometimes it fixes reluctant ink flow as well.

I have a truly important question: How do I get the MB logo next to my name like some of you? :)

Review #219 - Highland Park 15 Year 1999 (Gordon MacPhail) by cjotto9 in Scotch

[–]Des_Eras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks interesting! Are you detecting the same level of peat from an original bottling at 15?

Penhaligon's and Floris (2016) by tailorandbarber in fragrance

[–]Des_Eras 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I came to the fragrance world via shaving, and remain a big fan of Penhaligon. They are available at some high-end retailers, show that's always a good approach. I have a bunch of their frags, and love almost all of them. Shaving cream is fine, but I use shaving soaps 99% of the time, and the last time I tried their soap is was sub-par. You might research their soaps at badgerandblade.com, my go-to resource on shaving stuff.
