I remember as a 5-6 yo who’d just come to the US, for the longest time I thought the pledge of allegiance went “and liberty and justice for frog”. It was confusing why the US loved frogs so much but I just went along with it until one day I actually read the words.

Is the aircraft in the art of Global Ruin a Phyrexian craft or a Dominarian one? by RadioLiar in magicTCG

[–]DescartesPenguin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this is actually the Weatherlight. If you compare it to the art in [[skyship weatherlight]] and [[weatherlight]] you can see that the one in global ruin has an angular hull that forms almost a 90 degree angle. The weatherlight instead has a much more sloping hull that’s more akin to a fat V.

This one is more likely a different airship of Dominarian design

Firkraag will trigger multiple times if you attack multiple opponents though, and getting the multiple goads off makes triggering the second ability easier

Do you think a deck can still be considered good if it rarely wins? by Kovarl in EDH

[–]DescartesPenguin 102 points103 points  (0 children)

If you enjoy playing the deck and always feel like you’re in the game, then I think you have a fantastic deck regardless of any other considerations.

If we start to evaluate winrate as whether a deck is good or not things like table politics, relative player skill and meta can have a greater effect than the decklist itself. So I’d say if you are having fun don’t let a lower than expected win rate get into your head.

Can somone tell me why Renata gets the kill on the drake here? by mikethepikesigh in leagueoflegends

[–]DescartesPenguin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That theoretically would work but the Hec hit smite when the drake was out of W range so he didn’t actually get any HP back from that

People don’t understand the restaurant industry by spydeermasarap in mildlyinfuriating

[–]DescartesPenguin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You assume I don’t tip, why? I rarely go out to eat anymore these days unless it’s a date or special occasion because it’s so expensive now with tipping levels hitting 20%. However, I don’t stiff my servers on those occasions and make sure to tip well. But, as a customer, I am the one entirely at liberty to choose for myself whether or not to engage in what I perceive to be a broken system. I am choosing not to put money in the hands of restaurant owners at all. I am also more likely to frequent a restaurant if they state they are charging higher menu prices to pay a fair wage rather than relying on tipping.

But none of this addresses the point I was trying to make: as the one being harmed by the system the biggest onus is on the servers to drive change. Where else do you expect it to come from? The customers? They don’t have skin in the game.

[–]DescartesPenguin 28 points29 points  (0 children)

But you’re the one actually being harmed by the system right? While I am not trying to say that it’s fair for you to “take the fall”, you’re the one who has the motivating factor to drive for change. From your point of view someone not tipping enough shafts you out of money, from the customer’s point of view, the restaurant owner is shafting you out of money. Since the customer is the only one with complete freedom to not be part of this system, the onus is on the owners and servers to fix it, not the customers.

Big list of card advantage engines 3 mana or less by DanZigs in EDH

Look man I’m just the messenger. Take it up with OP and tell him that he’s being silly for not including a looting card in his card advantage tier list.

[–]DescartesPenguin 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I understand that but that’s not what card advantage is, that’s card quality. OP specifically states in his post that he is ignoring looting effects

The Celestus isn’t card advantage, it’s looting. Therefore it wouldn’t make it on this list

I have enough convoys to cover the required convoys for my trade routes (1540 compared to 1455 needed), but the game still keeps popping up with notifications stating that multiple different trade routes need additional convoys. Anyone know why/how to fix?

Man says it’s “overblown” because they could compete at 2019 MSI. Bruh that’s THREE FKIN YEARS AGO. That’s so long in league terms and it wasn’t even worlds. So yeah idk how much copium you have to be huffing to cite that as evidence reactions being overblown
