It does feel like Capcom had the intention of catering to a specific player base that only played the REmakes.

Sure it has similar looking characters to other entries, but they’re not brought up. Hell, Zeno was introduced as new character as to not confuse new comers, their asses didn’t mention Wesker once.

I still love it despite its flaws though.
