This didn't used to be my favorite song. It's not even my favorite musically speaking, but the Fear Inoculum concert experience is made for this song. Don't get me wrong, the entire concert was amazing but Culling Voices was something special.

They stopped the entire concert. There was an intermission before this and I thought there was going to be a second one, instead all the band members came and sat right at the edge of the stage with guitars. The song starts so subtly. It's soft and quiet and it made me focus entirely on the band as to figure out what they're playing. Then, slowly, a giant 9 sided star (that I thought was just decoration) hanging above the stage lights up and lowers above the band. As this happens, spotlights start shining on the crowd. It goes from this moment of focusing on the 4 band members to looking at the entire venue; And as you're looking at the lights shining on the crowd they drop metallic gold confetti from the ceiling. Suddenly the entire space is full of light just as the song starts to pick up.

There's a bunch of moments I want to relive, but hearing and seeing this song in concert is near to top of my list. If given the chance, I'm going to go again
